A bride, who is 28 years old, shared her experience on Reddit.
She was very upset because her guests ordered pizza during the wedding reception, even though she had planned a special vegan meal.

They spent nearly $15,000 on the food, hoping it would impress their guests.
“I (28F) just had my wedding last weekend. My husband (30M) and I have been vegan for three years, and we decided to have an all-vegan reception dinner.
“We spent months working with an amazing chef to create a gourmet five-course meal that just happened to be vegan – think mushroom Wellington, truffle risotto, roasted vegetable tarts, etc.
We spent nearly $15,000 on the food alone,” the bride recounted.
She decided to keep this vegan meal secret
However, the bride did not tell her guests that the meal would be vegan.
She thought that if she kept it a secret, people would enjoy the food without any bias.
She wanted everyone to try the dishes without judging them just because they were vegan.
Unfortunately, this plan backfired.
“We deliberately didn’t mention the food was vegan on the invitations because we wanted people to enjoy it without prejudice.
Every dish was designed to be delicious and satisfying, regardless of dietary preference,” the 28-year-old said.

During the reception, the bride noticed that her brother was missing from his table.
Moments later, he returned with a group of cousins, all carrying 20 large pizzas.
They announced to the guests that they had brought “real food” for anyone who wanted it.
This shocked the bride and left her feeling embarrassed. Many guests had not even tried the gourmet vegan meal yet.
She said: “The ceremony was beautiful, but during the reception, I noticed my brother Tom (32M) wasn’t at his table.
“Twenty minutes later, I watched in horror as he and my cousins walked in carrying 20 large pizzas.
They started distributing them to guests, announcing, “Real food for anyone who wants it!”
“I was mortified. The caterers looked so embarrassed, and several guests hadn’t even tried our carefully planned menu yet.”
When she confronted her brother, he explained that a family member had texted him saying the food was “just vegetables.”
He felt they needed to make sure no one went hungry at the wedding.
The bride felt humiliated as the pizzas took the spotlight away from her carefully planned meal.
She later learned that her mother-in-law had even posted on Facebook, saying the wedding was “saved by pizza.”

“They’re saying we should have warned people about the vegan menu.
“Am I the a**hole for not announcing the menu was vegan, and then getting upset about the pizza?”
