Early on a Sunday morning, a police sergeant patrolling the area stumbled upon the abandoned packages.
They were found neatly stacked in three Amazon delivery totes alongside a road in the woods.
The sergeant noticed something was wrong and contacted the Amazon distribution center.
The police later confirmed that there had been no reports of theft regarding the packages.
Upon inveport the incident to their manager.
Remarkably, the police decided not to pursue any criminal charges astigation, officers counted at least 80 items that had been left behind.
The next day, the delivery driver came forward to take responsibility for the discarded packages.
During their shift on Saturday evening, the driver admitted to dumping the packages due to feeling overwhelmed and stressed.
Lakeville Police Chief Matthew Perkins stated that the driver would regainst the driver.
Instead, they classified the situation as a human resources matter for Amazon.
“At this time, we are not seeking criminal charges and are considering this a human resources matter for Amazon,” Chief Matthew Perkins said in the statement.
“I would like to commend Sgt. Shawn Robert for his discovery of these unattended packages while on routine patrol,” he added.
“Sgt. Robert likely saved a Christmas headache for many local residents by noticing these totes and getting them back to Amazon, hopefully in time for a holiday delivery.”

Amazon claimed union tactics misrepresent employee representation.
In response to the strikes, Amazon has maintained that the Teamsters are misrepresenting the number of employees they represent.
An Amazon spokesperson claimed that the union has used intimidation tactics to recruit workers.
They also stated that the company continues to prioritize employee welfare and is working to resolve any issues.
“For more than a year now, the Teamsters have continued to intentionally mislead the public — claiming that they represent ‘thousands of Amazon employees and drivers.’ They don’t,” an Amazon spokesperson said.
