The man has been documenting the lives of them for 4 years.

Mark Laita, who has been documenting the lives of the Whittakers on his YouTube channel for four years, recently expressed his frustration and disappointment, stating that the family had been lying to him all along.

Located in Odd, West Virginia, the Whittaker family has garnered attention for their alleged inbreeding practices.

However, his perception of the Whittakers changed dramatically when he discovered that they had been dishonest with him.

The initial shock came when Laita announced the death of 67-year-old Larry Whittaker, supposedly due to a suspected heart attack.

In response, Laita launched a fundraiser and donated $1,000 towards Larry's funeral expenses.

However, it turned out that Larry was never truly deceased. Fans of Laita's channel noticed Larry alive and well in a video titled 'The Death of Larry Whittaker.'

This revelation exposed a significant deception, leaving Laita feeling betrayed.

In the video, Larry can be seen sitting outside their family home, discussing his own alleged death.

When confronted about it, Larry claims he had only learned about his supposed demise through the video.

The discovery shattered Laita's trust in the family, especially since he had given money to Larry's daughter, thinking it was for the funeral.

He was deceived by them many times.

Despite the apology from Larry's daughter and Laita's initial willingness to forgive her, the situation took a turn for the worse.

Laita handed over an additional $700, believing it would be used to help Larry's daughter, BJ, start a new life in North Carolina.

However, he later discovered that Larry had deceived him again by keeping the money and failing to fulfill his promise to take BJ to North Carolina.

In a subsequent video update titled "Spring 2024," Laita discusses the situation with Larry's cousin, Jason Whittaker.

Laita expressed his frustration, stating that even Kenneth, another family member, had been lying to him.

Laita declared he was done with them

He declared that he was done with the Whittakers, realizing that their deception extended beyond his initial discoveries.

Laita also revealed that the family had been receiving financial support from the state before he began documenting their lives.

In his conversation with Jason, they both agree that the best course of action is for Laita to distance himself from the family entirely.

The revelation about America's 'most inbred family' was interesting and brought attention to a strange and controversial situation.

However, Mark Laita's experience of being deceived by the Whittakers has completely changed the story.
