‘Big Balls’ is trending across the US after Elon Musk’s Fox interview sparked widespread discussion and unexpected reactions on social media.
Elon Musk’s government overhaul sparks controversy
Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has been making headlines.
As a special government employee, Musk has been tasked with reducing $2 trillion in spending.
His cost-cutting measures include mass layoffs, department closures, and strict job evaluations. These actions have led to backlash, threats, and financial losses for Musk.
Concerns over young DOGE staffers with high-security access
The department has also raised concerns about the young age of some employees. Many have access to high-level government security systems.
Recently, a 19-year-old DOGE team member, Edward Coristine, gained attention. Known as ‘Big Balls,’ he has direct access to critical government computers. Musk has publicly praised Coristine, stating, “Big Balls is awesome.”
Cybersecurity concerns linked to ‘Big Balls’
A Reuters report revealed Coristine’s controversial past. He previously ran DiamondCDN, a company providing network services.
One of its users was EGodly, a cybercriminal group active between 2022 and 2023. This group allegedly engaged in cryptocurrency theft, email hacking, and cyberstalking law enforcement officers.
FBI agent targeted by EGodly
In early 2023, EGodly leaked personal details of an FBI agent. The group posted his phone number and home photos.
They even shared a drive-by video of him being harassed. The retired agent later warned, “These are bad folks. They’re not a pleasant group.”
Despite Coristine’s ties to EGodly, neither the State Department nor the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) have commented. Coristine remains listed as a senior adviser at both agencies.
‘Big Balls’ trends after Musk’s Fox News interview
The controversy escalated after Musk’s Fox News interview.
He defended DOGE, claiming, “Basically, almost no one has gotten fired.” Following the interview, ‘Big Balls’ started trending in the U.S. on X (formerly Twitter). Users expressed concerns about DOGE’s hiring process and security risks.
Public outrage over DOGE’s security clearance policies
Many questioned how Coristine passed a background check. Others criticized Musk’s control over voter data and Social Security records.
One person said: Maybe we shouldn’t hand the keys to someone who helped a criminal gang.
A second wrote: Great interview. Everyone should watch this. You might have different out look on what they are doing.
While a third commented: Elon is the greatest
Another added: The only team out there that will save America! Thanks guys!
Another added: Big Balls could never get a security clearance
Someone else said: How come he’s not wearing a suit? That’s being very disrespectful. He’s being very disrespectful here, has he ever said Thank you to the american people for giving him day billions of dollars in grants to build his fuckin toy rockets
Former CISA deputy director Nitin Natarajan called the situation concerning. He said, “This stuff was not in the distant past. The recency of his activities is alarming.”
The controversy raises serious questions about DOGE’s vetting process. With public scrutiny mounting, it remains unclear whether Musk will continue to support Coristine.
