Desirée Hobbins broke down in tears after confirming that the cat was indeed Zeepy.

Upon returning to her yoga practice, Desirée received information about Zeepy. One of her friends informed her that the dead cat was Zeepy.

Desirée Hobbins was devastated upon realizing that the cat, Zeepy, was indeed dead

She told CKOM: ‘We think it’s him; we’ve looked at so many pictures and he has all the markings. I am sorry; we think it’s him.

She said, "They had him in a box wrapped in this velvet dress that my friend had in her car.

"I just looked at him and felt like Harry Potter when Cedric Diggory dies and they find him and his dad’s like, ‘My boy! My boy!’

The cat was cremated after his death.

After determining Zeepy was dead, Desirée Hobbin had him cremated at the Regina Humane Society.

She was extremely saddened by Zeepy's passing. Zeepy was then cremated to mourn the loss of her best friend.

However, the cat miraculously returned home after being cremated for nine months.

After nine months of being cremated, the cat Zeepy suddenly returned home, shocking Desirée Hobbins.

One day in May 2021, MS Hobbins was surprised after receiving a message about Zeep news on Instagram.

The message from Regina Cat Rescue informs her that Zeppelin is in good health.

The staff of  Regina Cat Rescue checked the microchip, and then they determined this cat was really Zeepy.

Desirée Hobbins then thought that they were wrong, but they still confirmed that this cat was Zeepy.

"I was like, they have the wrong cat, but then how do they even know Zeppelin's name? How did they find my contact information? But they had his picture and it was definitely Zeppelin.

After confirming that the cat was Zeppy, Desirée Hobbins yelled on the phone, "He was healthy and missing a tooth, but it was Zeppy. I just couldn’t believe it was him."

Ms. Hobbins expressed regret upon realizing that the animal was Zeepy.

She found herself distraught, not recognizing Zeepy and suspecting that he had died.

Zeepy then returned to his house and was welcomed back into the loving arms of his owner.

After the mistaken death of Zeeepy, Regina Humane Society Director of Marketing and Public Relations Bill Thorn shared his thoughts about this story.

"I mean, they’re bringing the cat in; they say, 'That’s my cat; it died.' I don’t know if we would sort of doubt them and check it in case it’s not really their cat.

"Typically, people don’t bring a cat that isn’t theirs in for cremation."
