The voyage would include visits to 147 countries and 425 destinations.

Unfortunately, the ship has encountered significant mechanical issues, including problems with its gearbox and rudders.

As a result, passengers have spent the past three months in Belfast rather than exploring the promised 100 tropical islands.

While the ship’s amenities, such as the swimming pool, theatre, and gourmet restaurant, are available during the day.

However, passengers must vacate each evening.

Additionally, they are required to stay in local hotels provided by the company.

Despite the unexpected delay, passengers have made the best of their situation.

Holly Hennessey, a Florida native and self-described “cruise addict,” humorously noted her increased reliance on her umbrella and raincoat. This was due to the unpredictable British weather.

Hennessey has chosen to enjoy the ship’s facilities while it is docked.

They have visited Croatia and Sweden and shared their experiences on social media through their page, ” Living Life on a Cruise”

Future prospects to the cruise

According to Villa Vie Residences‘ CEO, Mike Petterson, the cruise is expected to launch by the end of next week.

Additionally, Petterson acknowledged the challenges faced by pioneers of such a venture. However, he assured that the company is working diligently to resolve the issues.

He told the BBC, “When you’re the first at doing something, you will run into hiccups, but we’re definitely getting there, and although we are late, we will launch.”

The delay of the Odyssey’s world cruise has tested the patience of its well-heeled passengers.
