A couple recently won $26 million in the lottery after discovering a loophole that allowed them to beat the system in just three minutes.
An American couple, Jerry and Marge Selbee from Evart, Michigan, recently made headlines after their astounding $26 million lottery win.
Their victory did not come from sheer luck but rather from a clever strategy.
They discovered a loophole that allowed them to maximize their chances of winning. In just three minutes, they analyzed the game rules and found a way to beat the system.

Jerry and Marge’s discovery of this loophole proved to be a game-changer, enabling them to beat the odds and secure a life-changing jackpot.
Using their math skills, they created a plan to increase their chances of winning in the Cash Winfall lottery game.
This strategic approach helped them secure the impressive $26 million prize.
Through calculated investments and a systematic method, Jerry and Marge transformed their initial outlay into substantial returns.
How did they figure out the ‘loophole’ to beat system?
Although the Cash Winfall game was eventually closed due to the identified loophole, the Selbees’ story remains inspiring.
In the Cash Winfall game, if the jackpot hit $5 million without someone winning all six numbers, the money would go to people with some matching numbers.
Jerry, who is good at math with a bachelor’s degree, quickly saw the game’s special rule. He figured out a plan in a few minutes.
Understanding Jerry’s tactic needs a good grasp of math.
His strategy, though not simple, shows how thinking smart and planning carefully helped him make the most of this special game.
“If I played $1100, mathematically I’d have one four-number winner – that’s 1000 bucks.” he said.
“I divided 1100 by six instead of 57, because I did a mental quick dirty, and I come up with 18. So I knew I’d have either 18 or 19 three-number winners, and that’s 50 bucks each.
“At 18, I got $1000 for a four-number winner, and I got 18 three-number winners worth $50 each, so that’s 900 bucks.
“So I got $1100 invested and I’ve got a $1900 return.”
When Jerry first tried his plan, he went all out and spent $3600 on Winfall tickets – and it paid off, giving them $6300.
The next time, he spent $8000 and almost doubled his money.
This kept going, and soon they were playing with hundreds of thousands of dollars.
They even got their kids and friends involved, but the Winfall game closed in Michigan.
They kept at it in Massachusetts where it was still open, making the most of their strategy.
“It is actually just basic arithmetic,” added Jerry.
“It gave you the satisfaction of being successful at something that was worthwhile to not only us personally but to our friends and our family.”
Their scheme was uncovered after a tip-off to the Boston Globe, leading to the Massachusetts Lottery shutting down the game.
By 2011, the Selbees and their family had already amassed their wealth.
Authorities probed the situation but found no wrongdoing on the couple’s part – they had just found a way to beat the system.
Their incredible tale inspired a movie called “Jerry & Marge Go Large,” starring Bryan Cranston, released recently, capturing their larger-than-life journey.
