A couple fortunately received a bag full of cash from McDonald’s after ordering their food.
In a surprising twist, a Tennessee couple received more than just their breakfast order from McDonald’s. They discovered a large sum of cash instead of their food from the fast-food restaurant.
A couple received an unexpected surprise from McDonald’s.
Greg and Stacye Terry, from Tennessee, were in for a shock when they picked up their takeaway breakfast from McDonald’s.
Upon opening their bag, they were astonished to find it filled not with food. Instead, it was packed with stacks of cash intended for the restaurant’s deposit.
Stacye recounted the moment to NewsChannel5: “My husband opened the bag and discovered the money inside. He said, ‘You are not going to believe this.’ Sure enough, it was their bank deposit money.”
The couple took immediate action after finding a stash of cash at McDonald’s.
Realizing the mistake, the couple promptly decided to return the money.
“There is no other way to have it. I could never live with myself,” Stacye explained. They took the cash back to the restaurant, where an employee met them to retrieve the funds.
The restaurant owner expressed gratitude for the couple’s integrity, stating: “We are grateful for this customer and the action they took upon realizing our error. We are looking into why this mistake happened, but what is most important to us is knowing that we are part of a community with the values that were evidenced by this person’s actions.”
This incident occurs amid broader concerns for McDonald’s, particularly in Chicago.
CEO Chris Kempczinski has noted the increasing violence in their restaurants.
On September 14, Kempczinski referred to the situation as a “city in crisis.”
He emphasized that McDonald’s alone cannot address these larger societal issues but must collaborate with public sectors to find solutions.
Kempczinski stated: “There is a general sense out there that our city is in crisis.
“We see every single day in our restaurants what’s happening at society at large.
“It’s not going to be something that McDonald’s can solve on its own. We need to be able to do it with the public sector as well,” the CEO added.
The couple’s act of returning the money stands in contrast to the challenges facing the fast-food chain. It showcases a community spirit that resonates amid broader concerns.
