On Sunday, May 18, it was confirmed that former President Joe Biden has been diagnosed with prostate cancer.
According to an official statement, the 82-year-old was recently evaluated after reporting worsening urinary issues.
Doctors discovered a prostate nodule, leading to a diagnosis of advanced-stage cancer with bone metastasis.
The condition was described as a “more aggressive form,” with a Gleason score of 9, which indicates a high likelihood of rapid growth.
However, the cancer is said to be hormone-sensitive, which makes treatment more manageable.

Following the announcement, current U.S. President Donald Trump responded on Truth Social with a message of sympathy.
He expressed concern for Biden’s health, extended best wishes to the Biden family, and hoped for a full recovery.
“Melania and I are saddened to hear about Joe Biden’s recent medical diagnosis.
“We extend our warmest and best wishes to Jill and the family, and we wish Joe a fast and successful recovery.”
However, the reaction from Trump’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., took a dramatically different tone.
He initially echoed a neutral message by sharing a post that read, “Politics aside, we wish him a speedy recovery.”
However, his later commentary has sparked widespread criticism.
Trump Jr questions Jill Biden’s role in diagnosis
Soon after the initial message, Trump Jr shared a post questioning First Lady Jill Biden’s awareness of the diagnosis.
Trump Jr captioned the screenshot: “What I want to know is how did Dr. Jill Biden miss stage five metastatic cancer or is this yet another coverup???”
This comment drew intense backlash online. Critics were quick to point out that Jill Biden holds a Doctorate in Education (Ed.D.), not a medical degree.
As such, she is not qualified to diagnose or treat any medical condition, let alone prostate cancer.
