The businessman and political figure spoke about the topic during an appearance at the Qatar Economic Forum in Doha on May 21.
He was asked about his thoughts on succeeding his father in the White House.

During the event, Donald Jr. was initially asked about his father’s current tenure in office and his policies, which he praised enthusiastically.
The conversation shifted when the moderator asked if he would run for president after his father steps down.
“After President Trump steps down, would you consider picking up the reins? Would you run for office?” A presenter asked.
Laughing, Donald Jr. said it was an honor to be considered and noticed audience support.
“Here we go. Well, oh boy.
“Well, it’s an honour to be asked that and an honour to see that some people are okay with it.”
However, as the conversation continued, he grew more serious, explaining that his current focus remains on the Trump Organization.
He emphasized that leadership is not just about government but also about influencing the business sector.
“You never know. You know, right now, this [Trump Organisation] has been my focus.”
Criticism of “Woke Ideology” and corporate America’s influence
Donald Jr. expressed his opposition to what he described as “woke ideology,” which he claims has dominated corporate America for the past decade.
He believes his role is leading the fight against this cultural shift, linking business and politics.
Though he did not provide a definitive answer about running for office, he admitted the possibility of feeling a “calling” in the future.
“I think it’s not just about government. It’s also about, you know, the business sector doing that.
I think when we saw again that the woke ideology has taken over corporate America for the last decade or so, being on the forefront of combating that insanity, I think is fundamentally important.”
The President’s eldest son then continued his somewhat nonsensical explanation:
“I think those two things go hand-in-hand. So, the answer is, I don’t know.
“Maybe one day that calling is there. I’ll always be very active in terms of being a vocal proponent of these things.”
He also noted his father reshaped the GOP into the “America First” or “MAGA” Party.
He added of Trump: “I think my father has truly changed the Republican party. I think it’s the America First party now – the MAGA Party, however you want to look at it.”
