Donald Trump reacts strangely when people mistakenly call Elon Musk president, often dismissing or mocking confusion in unpredictable ways.
Recently, Donald Trump reacted to people referring to Elon Musk as “President Musk.”
This unusual situation has sparked discussions and reactions from various political figures and the public.
Trump’s response has been both interesting and revealing, highlighting his relationship with the Tesla CEO.
Donald Trump appointed Musk head of DOGE department
The comments spread after Elon Musk was named head of Trump’s new Department of Government Efficiency, known as DOGE.
Some people, mainly from the Democratic side, started to jokingly call Musk the president.

For example, Representative Jim McGovern stated, “At least we know who’s in charge. He’s president, and Trump is now vice president.”
Similarly, Robert Garcia welcomed “the Elon Musk presidency” in a tweet.
This playful banter has raised eyebrows and led to debates about Musk’s influence in the government.
Democratic Whip Katherine Clark questioned why an unelected person like Musk seemed to have so much power.
She said, “Here we are once again in chaos… because Elon Musk said, ‘We’re not doing this deal,’ and Donald Trump followed along.”

Donald Trump responds oddly to people calling Elon Musk the president.
During a recent interview with Fox News, host Sean Hannity brought up the comments about Musk being labeled as president.
Hannity asked Trump if he was aware that people were making these claims.
Trump replied, “I see it all the time… they have many different things… of hatred.”
“Actually, Elon called me. He said, ‘You know, they’re trying to drive us apart’. I said ‘Absolutely’.”
In the interview, Trump expressed his respect for Musk.

“Well, I respect him. I’ve always respected him. I never knew that he was right on certain things, and I’m usually pretty good at this stuff.
He did Starlink. He did things that were so advanced and nobody knew what the hell they were.
“I think, you know, something that had an effect on me was when I saw the rocket ship come back and get grabbed like you grab a beautiful little baby. You grab your baby.”
The Space Station Comments
In the same interview, Trump and Musk discussed the NASA astronauts currently on the International Space Station (ISS).
Musk claimed that the astronauts were “stranded” due to political reasons.
He mentioned that he was working to speed up their return after their mission was delayed.
Trump added, “They got left in space,” implying that the delay was due to President Biden’s administration.
Musk stated that the astronauts would be returning in about four weeks.
Trump claimed that Biden did not want the publicity from the astronauts’ return.
“They didn’t have the go-ahead with Biden. He was going to leave them in space. I think he was going to leave them in space… He didn’t want the publicity. Can you believe it?”

Stranded astronauts speak out
Despite the claims made by Trump and Musk, the astronauts aboard the ISS, Sunita “Suni” Williams and Barry “Butch” Wilmore, have responded publicly.
They addressed the idea that they feel abandoned.
Wilmore said, “We don’t feel abandoned, stuck, stranded. I understand why others may think that. We come prepared. We come committed.”
Williams added: “I don’t think those words are quite accurate… We are part of something bigger than ourselves, we are part of the International Space Station.
So no, we don’t feel abandoned, we feel like we are part of the team and that’s a huge honour.”
