Philadelphia Eagles fans took their celebrations to an extreme after their team’s 40-22 Super Bowl 2025 win. The City of Brotherly Love lived up to its reputation for intense and, at times, hostile behavior.
Fans gathered in large numbers, chanting and setting items on fire.
Offensive chants and puppet burning go viral
On social media, a viral video captured a momen showing burned a Kermit puppet and directed their anger toward Taylor Swift, sparking debate among viewers.
During the celebrations, fans chanted “F–k Taylor Swift,” as captured in social media footage. Earlier, Swift had been booed at the Super Bowl in New Orleans.
Some fans took their frustrations further by burning a Kermit the Frog puppet.
Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is often compared to the famous Muppet, making the act a direct jab at him.
One person said: Even at a game, there is hate! So sad that this is where we are at in America!
A second wrote: Philadelphia always had the most obnoxious fans both baseball and football.
While a third commented: I really don’t understand all the Taylor hate especially after winning the Super Bowl.
Another added: Obviously if she is rooting for her boyfriend and attends just about every Chiefs game the Eagles were on the opposite side of the spectrum.
Someone else said: In other words, a typical Sunday night in Philly.
Chiefs jerseys set on fire and torn apart
The celebrations escalated as fans set Chiefs jerseys on fire. One video showed a group ripping apart a white Mahomes jersey.
Fireworks exploded in the background while fans chanted “F–k the Chiefs.”
Another clip featured a fan lighting a Chiefs jersey on fire before shouting “Taylor Swift,” triggering another round of negative chants.
Taylor swift’s connection to philadelphia
Swift has a significant fan base in Philadelphia. She performed at Lincoln Financial Field from May 12-14, 2023. Despite this, a portion of the Eagles fanbase displayed hostility toward her during and after the Super Bowl.

While no major injuries were reported from the Super Bowl celebrations, the NFC championship game’s victory party ended in tragedy. An 18-year-old fell from a light pole and died. Two others suffered gunshot wounds but survived. These incidents highlight the dangers of uncontrolled public celebrations.
The Eagles’ Super Bowl victory sparked intense celebrations in Philadelphia. While fans rejoiced, some took things too far with offensive chants and reckless behavior. The city’s passion for football remains undeniable, but the night’s events once again raised concerns about fan conduct.
