Fans believe Eagles supporters were behind it, as she was rooting for boyfriend Travis Kelce and the Chiefs against Philadelphia.
During the game, Swift appeared confused, mouthing “What is going on?” to Ice Spice.
When the camera panned to her on the big screen, a wave of jeers erupted from the crowd.
Many on social media speculated that Eagles fans were responsible. She’s from Philly but is obviously supporting Travis and the Chiefs,” one person noted.
Another added, “It’s normal—she’s cheering for the opposing team.”
Others were baffled by the reaction. “She was literally just there to support Kelce,” one fan wrote. While, another joked, comparing Eagles fans to those who once booed Santa Claus.
NFL star speaks out against Swift’s critics
Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley defended Taylor Swift after she was booed at Super Bowl 2025. He criticized the negative reaction and highlighted Swift’s positive impact on the NFL.
“You know, I remember that they showed her on the jumbotron and she got booed. I don’t get it. I don’t get why she was getting hate there,”
Barkley said on SiriusXM’s “The Howard Stern Show.”
The 28-year-old noted that Swift was only there to support her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, and the Kansas City Chiefs. In an interview, Barkley also praised Swift’s influence on the NFL. He emphasized how her presence has boosted the league’s popularity
“She’s there supporting her significant other, and she’s made the game bigger,” he said.
He also mentioned the NFL’s efforts to expand globally, including upcoming games in Brazil, Mexico, and Australia.
“Her being a part of it is only helping that. I don’t get the slack she’s getting,” he added.
Swift’s reaction to Super Bowl crowd
During the game, Swift sat in a VIP suite with Kelce’s family and close friends, including Ice Spice and the Haim sisters.
When the crowd erupted in jeers, Swift exchanged a confused look with Ice Spice and gave some serious side-eye.
Later, she appeared stressed as she watched the Eagles defeat the Chiefs 40-22.
Kelce looked heartbroken after the game. However, a source told Page Six that Swift was there to comfort him after the loss.
