Five Guys has responded to growing criticism about its menu prices.

Despite the backlash, Five Guys stands by its quality and commitment to fresh ingredients.
Customer reactions to the burger chain’ prices
Many customers have shared their frustrations online, expressing that the prices at Five Guys have become excessive.
On social media, users commented on the rising costs, with some saying the prices were now reserved for special occasions rather than regular visits.
One Twitter user stated, “Five Guys has better fries and burgers [than Shake Shack], but the prices have gotten way out of hand.”
Another added, “Lower your prices, y’all have gotten out of hand.”
Despite these criticisms, The burger chain continues to receive praise for its food quality. Customers appreciate the taste but feel the pricing is a significant issue.

Premium uality and fresh ingredients
Iain Ross-Mackenzie, director of operations-APAC at Five Guys International, addressed the concerns.
He explained that the brand remains committed to providing a “simple, great American burger.”
According to Ross-Mackenzie, the higher prices reflect their dedication to fresh ingredients. He emphasized, “Nothing in store is frozen.
We only ever use fresh ingredients.” This commitment is a significant part of what makes Five Guys different from other fast food outlets.
Maintaining authenticity without localizing flavors
Another point raised by Ross-Mackenzie was that fast food chain would not alter its menu to include localized flavors.
Unlike other chains, such as McDonald’s or KFC, which offer region-specific dishes, the fast food chain maintains a consistent menu worldwide.
“Five Guys is your regular burger joint, where you know the people and the food,” he added. This consistency, according to Ross-Mackenzie, is what keeps loyal customers coming back.
The burger chain providing reasons for the cost
While customers have voiced concerns over the rising costs at Five Guys, the company stands firm on its pricing.
The use of fresh, non-frozen ingredients and a consistent, no-frills menu contribute to the premium cost. As Ross-Mackenzie highlighted, “People come to Five Guys for a simple, great American burger. And that’s what they will get here.”
Even with the higher prices, Five Guys maintains a strong following for its quality food, leaving customers to decide if the taste justifies the cost.
