In her TikTok, Kaytee shows herself preparing to take a nap in what looks like an overhead bin on the airplane.

“Passengers wondering where I’ve disappeared to halfway through their flight,” Kaytee, a Virgin Atlantic air hostess, wrote in the closed captions of her TikTok video.

She makes a small bed using sheets, pillows, and even a safety belt to secure herself.

The video is playful, with Kaytee captioning it, “Be Right Back nap break.”

However, the sight of her nestling into such a tight space has led some viewers to compare it to a coffin.

Reactions from viewers

The video has prompted a variety of reactions online.

Many viewers expressed disbelief and concern about the space Kaytee was using for rest.

Some viewers even remarked on the safety risks of sleeping in such a small space during a flight, suggesting that it would not be safe in case of turbulence or an emergency.

One user said: My claustrophobia is screeching at me

The second user added: By the time it’s all set up, break is over

The third user commented: I would happily pay more than first class price to have a sleeping pod like this on a plane.

Wish they actually allowed these for customers haha

Another user wrote: Omg don’t want to be morbid but you would have no chance in an accident.

The reality of flight attendant rest spaces

Kaytee’s sleeping setup is not as unusual as some might think.

Long-haul flights often have designated rest areas for cabin crew.

These spaces, known as crew rest compartments, are usually located above or below the main cabin.

They provide flight attendants with a private area to rest during long flights.

Many of these compartments come with a mattress and a thick curtain for privacy.

However, the design of these sleeping spaces can vary. Some flight attendants have described them as “dark little pods” that lack natural light.

While some may not enjoy the cramped conditions, others appreciate having a space to relax away from the demands of their job.
