Former Fox News host reveals reason she ‘fell in love’ with Trump despite his past inappropriate comments
During the interview, host Stephen A. Smith reminded Kelly of the harsh treatment she received from Trump during the 2015 Republican primary debate.
‘He felt that your question was nasty because you brought up quotes that he had said about women in the past, calling them pigs amongst other things.
‘And all of a sudden he goes on the air and said that you were bleeding out of your eyes or wherever it was or whatever.’

Smith asked Kelly how she could support someone who had verbally attacked her.
Kelly responded by saying that her feelings toward Trump changed gradually.
‘When he was attacking me for that nine-month period, I really was not his fan,’ she said.
‘And I wasn’t, you know, really gearing up to vote for Trump because he was staying on me like a dog with a bone.’
‘It was highly unpleasant,’ Kelly added. ‘But over time, I was able, and I’m actually proud of it, I was able to check my personal feelings about the guy and start getting back to what needs to be my focus as a journalist, which is the professional relationship with the guy.’

She found common ground in policy issues.
Kelly explained that she became more supportive of Trump due to his governing style and policy positions.
She stated that she believed he would take action on issues that mattered to her, such as border security and addressing gender-related concerns.
“I fell in love with Trump, the president, because I believed him,” she said.
‘Professionally, I fell in love with Trump, the president, because I believed him that he would close the border,’ Kelly explained.
‘I believed that he would fight back against the gender madness, which has become a very big issue for me, for many of us.
‘You know I believed that he was gonna try to get DEI out of our colleges and our woke schools.’

Trump and Kelly’s conflict began during a debate.
The conflict between Kelly and Trump began during an August 2015 debate when she questioned him about his history of insulting women.
This exchange led to Trump’s infamous comment suggesting Kelly was menstruating.
Despite their rocky start, Kelly found herself aligning with Trump’s policies and direction.
She acknowledged that the four years under President Joe Biden were “disastrous,” which further solidified her support for Trump.

Kelly critiques Pope Francis after his death
Recently, Kelly also made headlines for her comments about the late Pope Francis, who passed away on April 21.
Just hours after the announcement of his death, she released a podcast episode criticizing the Pope’s approach to immigration.
She claimed that the Catholic Church had participated in bringing illegal immigrants to the United States.
Kelly, a lifelong Catholic, expressed frustration with the Church’s actions, saying it left many wondering where their donations were going.
‘The Church has been participating in getting immigrants here and then finding them housing and helping them stay here, irrespective of the fact that they’re here illegally,’ said Kelly, a lifelong Catholic.
‘And Pope Francis didn’t have to deal with that. It’s caused a lot of us in the Catholic Church to wonder what exactly we’re donating toward on Sunday, it really does.”

In her podcast, Kelly stated that while it is important for the Church to support its priests, funding illegal immigration was problematic.
She stressed that not everyone crossing the border is an upstanding citizen.
Megyn Kelly criticized Michelle Obama’s comments on marriage.
In addition to her political commentary, Kelly recently reacted to remarks made by Michelle Obama regarding marriage.
During an episode of Michelle Obama’s podcast, the former first lady discussed the challenges of marriage.
‘I tell people – and folks think this is harsh – it’s, like ‘You’re gonna have a bad decade.’
‘I mean, I’ve been married to my husband for 30-plus years… If the odds were you’re going to be married to your partner for 50 years and 10 of those years could be bad, you’d sign up for it. You know, and that’s really hot it works out.’
Kelly, however, disagreed with her perspective, suggesting that both Michelle and Barack Obama had married the wrong people.
Kelly contrasted her own successful marriage, stating she has been happily married for 17 years without experiencing a bad year.
