Former Joe Biden medical advisor, Dr. Ezekiel Emanue, believes Biden had aggressive prostate cancer during his presidency, possibly before taking office.
Dr. Emanuel says Biden had prostate cancer while in office
Former Biden COVID advisor Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel made a startling claim during an appearance on MSNBC’s Morning Joe on Monday morning.
The physician, who helped design Obamacare, said Biden likely had cancer while serving as president.
He added it may have developed even earlier. His statement came after official confirmation of Biden’s diagnosis. The cancer was identified as an aggressive form of prostate cancer.
According to Emanuel, the advanced nature of the disease suggests it was present for more than several years before detection.
Host Joe Scarborough clarified: “So he had it while he was president?” Emanuel responded bluntly: “Oh, yeah. Probably from the start.”
“Oh, yeah. He did not develop it in the last 100-200 days,” Emanuel said. “He had it while he was president and probably had it at the start of his presidency in 2021. I don’t think there’s any disagreement about that.”
Biden’s cancer diagnosis suggests White House medical oversight
On Sunday, Biden’s office revealed the former president’s cancer had a Gleason score of 9 with bone metastasis, indicating late-stage illness.
The Gleason score ranges from 6 to 10.
A score of 9 indicates high-grade prostate cancer with fast spread and poor outlook.
Dr. Emanuel noted this level of progression is serious. He said it likely means the cancer grew silently during most or all of Biden’s term.
Emanuel added that it’s “unlikely” a routine test would miss such advanced cancer.
He suggested only two possibilities: doctors either didn’t test, or they tested and didn’t report the results.
Either way, Emanuel believes the American public may not have been told the full truth about Biden’s health.
He compared this potential lapse to previous transparency issues during Donald Trump’s COVID diagnosis in 2020.
Experts question lack of Biden’s prostate exam as president
Scarborough noted that while many men over 70 skip prostate exams, “most men aren’t president of the United States.
Emanuel agreed, expressing concern that President Biden may not have undergone standard screening while in office.
“Presidents Obama and Bush both took this test. It’s surprising that Biden either didn’t take it—or we weren’t told.”
He emphasized that withholding such a result from the public would be deeply troubling for democratic transparency.
In 2024, Biden underwent a physical where his physician, Dr. Kevin O’Connor, found “no new concerns.”
The exam did not mention a prostate test. This raises more doubts about what screenings were done. Biden’s last known colonoscopy was in 2021.
No public record confirms a prostate screening during his presidency.
Trump also accused White House of hiding Biden’s health condition
Donald Trump responded quickly and critically to the news of Biden’s cancer diagnosis.
Speaking from the Oval Office, Trump questioned how the illness went undetected during Biden’s time in the White House.
Trump said: “To get to stage nine, that’s a long time”.
He accused Biden’s medical team of “not telling the facts”.
Additionally, Trump also said that the punlic deserved transparency much earlier.
“To get to stage nine, that’s a long time,” Trump said, referencing Biden’s high Gleason score.
He explained that prostate exams are a standard part of male physicals, particularly in those over age 70.
Trump, who recently underwent a full checkup at Walter Reed, claimed he received a prostate test without exception.
Calling the situation “very, very sad,” Trump also warned it could be dangerous for the country.
He tied Biden’s health decline to public policy failures and pointed to a broader issue of presidential fitness.
