A former Trump supporter, fired from her federal job, expresses disappointment and regret over her past political choices and beliefs.

Jennifer Piggott, a resident of West Virginia, recently spoke out about her feelings toward Donald Trump after losing her job.

She used to be a proud supporter, but her views have changed significantly.

Piggott worked for the Treasury Department’s Bureau of Fiscal Service. This was during Trump’s administration, and she was excited to support him in the 2024 election.

She even displayed a Trump-Vance flag outside her home. However, everything changed when she was laid off.

Piggott was one of 125 employees let go as part of Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), led by Elon Musk.

Piggott described the experience of losing her job as very emotional. “I cried. It’s scary. It’s a really scary thing, and I was embarrassed,” she said.

This layoff was not what she expected from the administration she had supported.

Piggott was shocked when she learned why she was fired.

She had received the highest rating possible in a performance review just three weeks earlier. This made her question the reasons behind her dismissal.

“I expected more from President Donald Trump,” she stated.

She had always believed that Trump cared about the working class, but her layoff made her feel differently.

When asked if she regretted voting for Trump, Piggott replied, “Yes I do. To cut the knees of the working class Americans just doesn’t make sense to me. I expected more from President Donald Trump.”

She felt that the administration’s actions hurt working-class Americans and did not understand why the government would cut jobs in this way.

Piggott’s change of heart was not easy. Since she spoke out, she has received death threats.

Other Trump supporters in West Virginia have also expressed their concerns but chose to remain anonymous to avoid backlash.

Other employees share their concerns

Another former employee from the Bureau of Fiscal Service shared her thoughts as well.

She was worried about losing her health insurance if she lost her job.

While she supported balancing the budget, she disagreed with how it was being done.

“It’s just not right,” she said. Many workers feel the same way, fearing for their livelihoods.

The impact of layoffs on workers

Reports indicate that more than 49,000 federal employees have been laid off due to Trump’s policies. Many of these workers have faced significant hardships.

The cuts could affect around 12 percent of the 2.4 million civilian federal workers. This situation is alarming for many families across the country.

Piggott and her former colleagues believe that the administration does not understand the real impact these job cuts have on people’s lives.

Piggott expressed her feelings, saying, “As much as I think that President Trump is doing wonderful things for the country in some regards, I don’t understand this at all.”
