On social media, many viewers are stunned after kindergarten homework confuses adults with advanced degrees.
A seemingly simple kindergarten worksheet has left adults scratching their heads.
The assignment, shared on Reddit, asked children to identify three-letter words based on illustrated images.
However, one image in particular sparked confusion, with many arguing that it was nearly impossible to solve.
A puzzling kindergarten task
On social media, a Reddit user who goes by @mildlyinfuriating shared a puzzling kindergarten task, which gained attention among viewers.
They believed to be a mother, posted a picture of her child’s homework. The task required the kindergartener to look at outlined images and write the corresponding three-letter words.
The post read: “Several adults with advanced degrees could not solve this kindergarten homework.’
The first two images were straightforward. A bear was labeled with the letter ‘C,’ leading to the answer ‘cub.’
The second image, a sun, was also easy to identify. However, the third image stumped both children and adults alike.
While, the third illustration showed a smiling woman in a long gown with her hands clasped. The letter ‘W’ was provided as a clue.
Social media reaction
A kindergarten task quickly went viral and left many stunned, struggling to solve the answer.
In the comment selection, many Reddit users speculated on what the word could be.

While, one user theorized that it was a mistake. Some even joked that it could be “Wyf,” an archaic spelling of ‘wife.’
Many Redditors felt that the illustrator had failed to depict a bride accurately.
One person said: Pretty sure this was supposed to be ‘nun’ and the book messed up
A second wrote: Wen is an old English term for a woman, but it’s rarely used today.
While a third commented: She needs a bouquet or something. That does not look like a wedding dress or veil.
Another added: F-minus for the book’s illustrator. This looks nothing like ‘wed.’
Someone else said: That’s a bride?! Nope, somebody didn’t proofread before it went to the printers. That’s a nun cross out the W and write a N.
Another user wrote: This is the answer per the teacher, my only response is “wow”
The unexpected answer
Unlike many unsolved Reddit mysteries, the original poster returned with the answer. The book intended for the child to write ‘wed.’
This revelation left many confused. One user asked, Why would a kindergartener know the word ‘wed’ yet?”
Another commented, “Most adults say ‘married’ or ‘wedding.’ And that looks more like a nun than a bride.”
The puzzling worksheet has sparked debate online. Was the illustration too vague? Or should kindergarteners be expected to know the word ‘wed’?
