Police prevented ‘bomb attack’ before Lady Gaga concert
The Rio de Janeiro Civil Police, along with the Ministry of Justice, confirmed that a bomb plot targeted the concert.
They reported that the attackers intended to use minors to carry out the attack.

In a statement, the police shared that they had arrested one person and detained a teenager connected to the plot.
“OPERATION FAKE MONSTER | The Rio de Janeiro Civil Police, in conjunction with the Ministry of Justice, prevented a bomb attack that was planned to occur at Lady Gaga’s show in Copacabana, South Zone RJ.
“The person responsible for the plan was arrested, and a teenager was detained.”
Through an operation named “Fake Monster,” authorities uncovered the plan due to a tip-off from police intelligence.
“The suspects were recruiting participants, including minors, to carry out coordinated attacks using improvised explosives and Molotov cocktails.”

Gaga’s team received no warning about threats.
Despite the serious nature of the threat, Lady Gaga’s team stated they were not informed about the bomb plot.
A spokesperson for the singer said they learned about the threat only through media reports after the concert.
“We learned about this alleged threat via media reports this morning.
“Prior to and during the show, there were no known safety concerns, nor any communication from the police or authorities to Lady Gaga regarding any potential risks.

Her team worked closely with law enforcement throughout the planning and execution of the concert and all parties were confident in the safety measures in place.”
