Man stunned after meeting his doppelgänger on vacation
Sean Douglas McArdle, a professor at Kent State University, was vacationing in Las Vegas for a friend’s 40th birthday. While enjoying the trip, his friends suddenly burst into laughter and pointed at a man across the pool.
I wasn’t convinced until now…. we are definitely in a simulation. Today I randomly swam past my Doppelseäner at the Flamingo pool in Vegas.

McArdle turned to see someone who looked just like him. The resemblance was uncanny. “It was like looking in the mirror,” McArdle said.
He described the moment as “surreal” because the stranger shared his complexion, facial structure, and even his style.
Viral moment captured and shared online
McArdle and his look-alike took a photo together, which he later posted on Reddit. The image quickly went viral, gaining over 100,000 upvotes. People online marveled at the doppelgängers’ striking similarities.
Adding humor to the encounter, McArdle opened the conversation with his double by jokingly asking, “Are you Seth Rogen?” The stranger chuckled, setting a lighthearted tone for their brief interaction.
One person said: Could they be related?!
A second wrote: Plot twist: it’s actually the same guy from another dimension.
While a third commened: how do you let your doppelganger pass by without taking all their contact details immediately? the things you could do to mess with people is almost endless.
Someone else said: We were in ibiza with our family and my daughters double was there it’s so strange when you see it
Another added: It’s nothing but a glitch in the matrix
Another user added: That’s insane. They even have similar eyeware…lol
Similarities extended beyond appearance
The coincidence didn’t end with their faces. Both men wore similar hats, had matching facial hair, and sported nearly identical glasses. McArdle noted that they were the only two people in the pool wearing glasses, which added to the eerie resemblance.
“I get weirded out if I can’t see around strangers, so I kept my glasses on in the pool. He did, too,” McArdle explained.
McArdle’s family found the encounter amusing, especially his youngest child. The viral post even gave McArdle a chance to one-up his daughter, who often racks up millions of views on TikTok.
“My youngest thought it was funny. I finally have something with more views than her TikTok videos,” he said, laughing about their friendly competition.
