The ‘Take It Down Act was a cornerstone of Melania Trump’s revived Be Best campaign, which focuses on child welfare, digital safety, and mental health.
In recent months, Melania held private meetings with lawmakers from both parties and personally lobbied on Capitol Hill to secure support for the bill.
Additionally, she also hosted women affected by revenge porn in her guest box during President Trump’s joint address to Congress.
Two of those women, Francesca Mani and Elliston Berry, stood proudly in the Rose Garden as the bill was signed into law.

It mandates websites remove non-consensual sexual content, including AI-generated deepfakes, within 48 hours of a complaint.
It also empowers victims and their families to take action against content platforms that fail to comply.
“This is a national victory,” Melania Trump said during the ceremony.
She continued: ‘This legislation is a powerful step forward in our efforts to ensure that every American, especially young people, can feel better protected from their image or identity being abused,’ she continued.
She added that the new law represents a step forward. It helps ensure young Americans are protected from the weaponization of their identities and images.
Additionally, Melania Trump also used her platform to issue a strong warning about the mental health risks posed by artificial intelligence and social media.
She described digital platforms as “sweet, addictive, and engineered” to impact children’s minds.
‘Sweet, addictive and engineered to have an impact on the cognitive development of our children,’ the first lady explained. ‘But unlike sugar, this new technologies can be weaponized, shape beliefs and sadly affect emotions and even be deadly.’ She said.
