Barack Obama wanted a third child, but Michelle sisagreed
Michelle Obama recently shared that her husband, Barack Obama, wanted a third child. However, she felt content raising just two.
Additionally, the couple, who celebrate their 33rd wedding anniversary in October, share daughters Malia, 26, and Sasha, 23.
During an interview on Kylie Kelce’s “Not Gonna Lie” podcast, Michelle, 61, recalled their discussion about expanding their family.
“I think I’ve been lucky with these two,” Michelle said. Barack, however, had a different perspective.
“We should have a third,” he suggested. Michelle jokingly responded, “Dude!” She admitted she feared they might get a “crazy one” if they had another child.
Michelle opened up about postparturn emotions
Michelle also discussed her emotions during early motherhood. She reflected on the deep love she felt for her children and the anxiety that followed.
“You love these babies so much,” she said. “You immediately think, ‘Oh my God, all you have is me. I feel so bad for you.'” She added that she wished her children “had another parent” to rely on.
Barack Obama Embraced Being a ‘Girl Dad’
Both Michelle and Kylie Kelce noted that their husbands are “girl dads.” Michelle playfully told Kylie, “That’s because that’s what your husband deserved.”
She recalled telling Barack, “Dude, you need a bunch of women in your life to smack you around.”
Michelle Will never run for president
During the podcast, Michelle confirmed she would never return to politics, citing her children’s well-being as the primary reason.
“I wanted them to have the freedom of not having the eyes of the world on them,” she explained.
Additionally, she also emphasized the sacrifices children make when their parents are in political roles.
“The thought of putting my girls back into that spotlight—when they are just now establishing themselves—is unthinkable.” She added.
Michelle Obama’s early bedtime habits
While, Michelle also shared a lighthearted moment about her early bedtime routine.
“Bedtime is the best time of the day,” she said. “My husband teases me about how early I go to bed.”
She described her love for fresh sheets and a cool room. “If we have guests, I’m engaged. I’m talking. But the moment we’re done, I try not to go to bed before sunset.”
Recent months have seen speculation about Michelle and Barack’s marriage.
Fans noticed Michelle was absent from several key events. Barack attended Jimmy Carter’s state funeral in December 2024 alone.
Additonally, Michelle also skipped Donald Trump’s January inauguration, breaking tradition.
Despite rumors, the couple continues to share personal moments. They recently posted a Valentine’s Day selfie, reaffirming their connection.
