Mickey Rourke leaves ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ after ‘inappropriate language to JoJo Siwa, left viewers stunned.
Oscar-nominated actor Mickey Rourke has exited “Celebrity Big Brother UK” after just a few days.
His departure follows accusations of offensive language and unacceptable behavior toward fellow housemates.
The 72-year-old’s early departure follows a series of controversial interactions that sparked outrage among viewers and cast members alike.
Rourke’s offensive remarks toward JoJo Siwa sparked immediate backlash
Rourke drew criticism early in the season after a disturbing exchange with pop singer and influencer JoJo Siwa, 21.
He asked Siwa if she “likes girls or boys.” After she replied that she is attracted to girls, Rourke made a shocking and inappropriate comment.
“If I stay longer than four days, you won’t be gay anymore,” Rourke reportedly told Siwa.
When Siwa firmly responded that she would “still be gay and in a happy relationship,” Rourke escalated the conversation further.
He allegedly said, “I’ll tie you up,” and later added that he would “vote the lesbian out real quick,” referring to her upcoming eviction.
Chris Hughes defended Siwa and challenged Rourke’s language
Fellow housemate Chris Hughes, known from Love Island, stepped in to defend Siwa. He told Rourke, “You can’t say that.”
Following the exchange, Rourke was issued a formal warning from producers and offered an apology to Siwa.
“I want to apologize,” Rourke said. “I’ve got a habit of having a short fuse. And I don’t mean nothing by it. I do mean it [sorry]. If I didn’t, I wouldn’t say it to you.”
Despite the apology, tensions reportedly escalated between Rourke and Hughes. This culminated in Rourke being asked to leave the Celebrity Big Brother house.
JoJo Siwa’s mother responds to the incident with disappointment
Jessalynn Siwa, JoJo’s mother, expressed her frustration in a social media post following Rourke’s comments.
“I’m really sad. She went to a foreign country to do a TV show and got treated like that right away,” she wrote on Instagram.
She added that although JoJo handled the situation with grace, the incident “doesn’t make it okay or right.”
Jessalynn also highlighted a broader issue, stating that criticism of her daughter’s sexuality and artistic choices has become normalized.
Bella Thorne accuses rourke of past misconduct on a film set
In a separate development, actress Bella Thorne publicly accused Rourke of misconduct on the set of their 2020 film Girl.
She recalled a disturbing moment while filming a scene in which her character is restrained.
“He’s supposed to take a metal grinder to my kneecap and instead he used it on my genitals through my jeans,” Thorne wrote online.
She did not mention Rourke by name but confirmed the actor in question worked with her on Girl, the only film they shared.
Mickey Rourke’s Celebrity Big Brother departure adds to a growing list of controversies involving the veteran actor. His remarks toward JoJo Siwa were widely condemned.
While producers acted swiftly, the incident reignited conversations around appropriate conduct in reality television.
