Her routines, which included unusual moves like mimicking a kangaroo and performing the ‘sprinkler,’ quickly went viral.

Raygun was seen incorporating the sprinkler dance move to showcase her Australian roots. Additionally, she ended her performance by squirming on the dance floor with her hand on her chin.

The performance led to a torrent of online mockery.

Raygun’s performance faced not only criticism but also led many viewers to request an apology.

The controversy intensified with the emergence of a petition demanding an investigation into Gunn’s selection process. With over 50,000 signatures, the petition accused Gunn of unfairly manipulating the selection criteria.

Gunn then forced to remain overseas rather than return to Australia and face further backlash.

The Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) has fiercely defended Gunn, calling the petition “appalling” and “baseless.” Matt Carroll, AOC Chief, criticized the petition as defamatory and has requested its removal from Change.org, emphasizing that the allegations against Gunn and Chef de Mission Anna Meares are unfounded.

Despite the online ridicule, Gunn has garnered support from several prominent figures.

Speaking on “The Project,” Titmus described how the Australian team rallied around Gunn. ‘I am one of her, we’re all teammates,’ she said. ‘You have to really put yourself in her shoes.

‘Regardless of the circumstances , bullying is not OK, you just don’t want that for anyone. I really hope she is OK, it’s crazy how much this has stirred everyone up. I really cant believe it.’

“We formed a supportive circle, had dance battles, and showed her our encouragement. The reaction from the public was intense, and it was crucial for us to support her during this time,” Titmus shared.

Addionally, she emphasized that, regardless of the situation, bullying is unacceptable and expressed hope for Gunn’s well-being.

After her disastrous performance at the Olympic Games, Raygun has shared a deeply personal message with the world.

In the statement, she says: ‘In regards to the allegations and misinformation floating around, I’d like to ask everyone to please refer to the recent statement made by the AOC as well as the posts on the Ausbreaking Instagram page as well as the WDSF breaking for gold page.

‘I’m going to be in Europe for a few weeks, for some pre-planned downtime but I would really like to ask the press to please stop harassing my family, my friends, the Australian breaking community and the broader street dance community. Everyone has been through a lot as a result of this, so I ask you to still respect their privacy.
