The Sindbad submarine had operated in Hurghada for years. The three-hour excursion, costing £68 per adult and £35 per child, promised breathtaking views of coral reefs and exotic marine life.
The operator, Sharm Hurghada Excursions, claimed the vessel was one of only 14 real recreational submarines worldwide.
The submarine could reach depths of 72 feet, with 44 passenger seats and large viewing windows.

The disaster left six tourists dead; however, authorities have yet to publicly release the identities of the deceased.
