She thought it showed that he might not take his studies seriously. This was the “red flag” she mentioned.
Chan continued: “I thought he was going nowhere, he’s blowing off his homework.”
Mark believed his comment was a compliment.
He thought he was expressing how much he enjoyed spending time with Priscilla. However, she did not see it that way at first.
She worried that he was neglecting his responsibilities and that he was “going nowhere.”
