By using math, the retired couple won a $26M lottery jackpot.

In an amazing achievement, a retired couple managed to crack the lottery code and win a whopping $26 million.

Jerry and Marge Selbee used their math skills to outsmart the system and achieve what seemed impossible.

Jerry and Marge Selbee, hailing from Evart, Michigan, used what they described as "simple arithmetic" to outsmart the odds and claim their incredible prize.

While winning the lottery is often considered a rare occurrence, the Selbees discovered a unique strategy that allowed them to exploit a specific game called Cash Winfall.

In Cash Winfall, if the jackpot reached $5 million and no one matched all six numbers, the money would roll down to the lower-tier prize winners.

Jerry, having a strong aptitude for math with a bachelor's degree in the subject, quickly recognized the potential of this game.

He devised a method that involved careful calculations and analysis to maximize their chances of winning.

The couple's strategy involved investing a significant sum of money in purchasing lottery tickets.

By applying their mathematical approach, they were able to secure multiple wins and accumulate a total of $26 million.

Their initial trial proved successful when they purchased $3,600 worth of Winfall tickets, generating a substantial return of $6,300.

After their initial success, Jerry and Marge Selbee were motivated to improve their strategy further. They carefully adjusted their method and slowly increased the amount of money they invested in lottery tickets.

This decision proved fruitful as they started earning even more substantial rewards. Remarkably, they included their children and close friends in their quest for wealth.

Their winnings captured the attention of the lottery authorities.

However, their winning streak eventually came to an end when the lottery authorities caught wind of the scheme and suspended the Cash Winfall game.

The couple continued to find an opportunity to continue their venture in Massachusetts, where the game was still available.

Their success attracted attention, and their incredible story became the inspiration for a feature film called "Jerry & Marge Go Large," which premiered last year.

Despite facing scrutiny and an investigation, the authorities determined that the Selbees had not committed any wrongdoing.

They had merely identified a loophole in the system and capitalized on it.

Another case of winning the lottery jackpot 14 times using simple math.

Originally from Romania and now in Australia, he created a special way to pick numbers. He realized that sometimes it was cheaper to buy all the tickets than the jackpot prize.

So he formed a group with other people and bought tickets for different lotteries. They won many smaller prizes and even some big ones.

Imagine a lottery game where you need to pick six numbers from a range of 1 to 40. In this case, there would be a total of 3,838,380 different combinations of numbers that you could choose from.

It's a huge number of possibilities, and the man used this knowledge to his advantage when strategizing his lottery ticket purchases.

But the lottery authorities found out about their strategy and made new rules to stop them. However, the man moved to the United States and targeted a different lottery.

He convinced many people to invest money, and they bought all the tickets when the jackpot was really big. This caused a long legal fight, and the man had to deal with investigations by the CIA and FBI.

In the end, he didn't get in trouble with the law and declared bankruptcy.
