Twice sold lottery tickets worth $10 million to the winner without receiving any tips
The winner of two $10 million lottery tickets, who purchased them at a Brooklyn gas station, has not shared any of his wealth with the staff, according to the manager.
Despite winning multiple lottery prizes, including two $10 million tickets, Wayne Murray has not yet tipped the staff at H&A Gas & Convenience in Flatbush.
Asim expressed his disappointment and shared that he had been dreaming of receiving a small share of the winnings, but he did not receive anything.
“The customer that won [is] a very nice guy,” Asim said Saturday. “He might come back… so I am hopeful.”
New York State offers a $10,000 bonus to retailers who sell winning jackpots on Mega Millions or Powerball tickets, but this bonus does not apply to retailers who sell winning tickets for other, smaller lottery games.
Unfortunately, this means that H&A Gas & Convenience, despite being the retailer where Wayne Murray purchased his winning tickets, will not receive a share of his millions unless Murray chooses to personally reach into his pocket and provide a tip or bonus to the staff.
The store has been more crowded since Murray's second $10 million win
Since Wayne Murray, 63, won a second $10 million prize playing the New York Lottery's 200X scratch-off game, the business at H&A Gas & Convenience has experienced a significant uptick.
This impressive win comes after Murray's previous stroke of luck in August 2022 when he won $10 million while playing the Black Titanium game.
The news of Murray's double triumph has undoubtedly attracted attention to the gas station, resulting in an increased flow of customers eager to try their luck at the same location.
As a result, the business has seen a notable boost in sales and overall revenue.
“The store gets famous,” Asim said.
“I’ve seen new faces; some people keep coming asking [about the] lucky store. They say they will get their gas from here, so it’s good for the business, too,” he continued
Despite his incredible fortune, Murray has not shared any portion of his wealth with the hardworking staff who assisted him during his winning transactions.
After the necessary tax deductions, Murray received a substantial sum of $6 million for each of his winnings
Wayne Murray, the fortunate winner of two $10 million lottery prizes, opted for the lump sum payout of $6 million for each win after taxes, as confirmed by lottery officials. While the games each cost only $30 to play.
Both of Murray's wins came from different scratch-off games. In August 2022, he struck luck with the Black Titanium game, securing a $10 million prize. Then, most recently, he played the New York Lottery's 200X scratch-off game, winning another astounding $10 million.
Despite the relatively small investment, Murray's incredible luck and strategic choices resulted in life-altering winnings, allowing him to claim substantial sums of money.
Murray started his new life after winning $10 million in the lottery twice
Wayne Murray was seen leaving his modest three-story home in East Flatbush on Friday, driving a brand-new 2024 Range Rover SV.
These luxury vehicles typically have a starting price of at least $209,000, indicating Murray's newfound financial capacity to indulge in high-end purchases.
Just two days prior, he expressed his desire to avoid drawing attention to himself regarding his two incredibly lucrative wins.
This suggests that Murray prefers to maintain a low profile and keep his newfound wealth private.
“Some of us just like to be discreet,” Murray declared on last Thursday.
According to the New York Lottery, the odds of winning the 200X scratch-off game are approximately 1 in 3.64 million. Likewise, the odds of winning the Black Titanium game are approximately 1 in 3.53 million.
These odds indicate the rarity of winning either of these scratch-off games and highlight the remarkable luck that Wayne Murray had in winning both.
