London shoppers were left frustrated after a Tesla vehicle came to a halt on the exit ramp of a major car park, as shared in a post on Reddit.
The incident forced them to wait for 3 hours, causing significant disruption.
A Tesla caused significant disruption after running out of battery in just three hours.
On Reddit, one user, who goes by @henrylondon1988, known as Henry showing the significant disruption by run of Tesla.
In the post, Henry, a disgruntled shopper, took to Reddit to vent his frustrations to Tesla run out off battery.
The post has the caption:” Perfect, a Tesla ran out of battery and stopped at the ramp of a 5 storey car park at Westfield. It has been three hours and counting.”
Henry recalled that drivers at London’s Westfield Shopping Centre faced a major inconvenience when a Tesla ran out of battery power on the entry ramp of the car park.
The Tesla reportedly ran out of battery and blocked the car park of the biggest shopping centre.
The incident prevented other drivers from moving, trapping all vehicles and leading to a complete blockage for three hours.
In his comment, Henry expressed his fury over the Tesla’s dead battery.
He wrote: : “The Tesla is completely dead and it is in parking mode.
“The management team rumbling about their solution and basically there is nothing they can do.
“At the end, all the cars reversed out from a 5 story [sic] winding ramp. Fab day.”
Henry’s post quickly went viral and sparked debate on social media.
In the comment selection, many user express their concern about the incident. While some defend the Tesla driver, they suggested that the ample range of Tesla vehicles that the battery capacity enough to Tesla run is limited
While another questioned the circumstances that led to such a prolonged disruption.
One person said: I know range anxiety is a thing, but there is no excuse for this.
A second wrote: I haven’t filled my car since the whole ‘fuel shortage’ debacle. I’m now at a quarter tank and know I’ll have to go back some time.
While a third commented: Considering the huge range these cars have, there’s really no excuse for this.
Someone else said: 3 hours and the Westfield management couldnt find a means to tow it off the ramp? Its in their interest to keep traffic flowing.
Another added: Quite apart from the driver getting strands in the first place, and the management not getting an extension cable nor organising people to reverse out in 3 hours, how the hell didn’t the drivers organise themselves in that time??
Who are these people that just accept sitting on an on ramp (to get in to Westfield no less) for 3 hours? Another skepticaled.
A spokesperson for Westfield confirmed the incident.
After being notified of the incident, Westfield’s parking team intervened to assist and redirect other vehicles around the trapped Tesla. However, this situation persisted until assistance from Tesla arrived.
They said: “Westfield London’s car park team assisted the broken down vehicle and guided 10 vehicles that were behind the Tesla around it.
“Tesla car park assistance then arrived on site to support the broken down vehicle.”
