Tesla’s self-driving Cybercab features no steering wheel or rear window, offering a futuristic, fully autonomous driving experience.

Tesla has unveiled an exciting innovation in the world of autonomous vehicles: the self-driving Cybercab.

This vehicle promises to change how we think about transportation, offering a unique design without a steering wheel or rear window.

As Tesla prepares for its estimated release in 2026, many people are eager to learn more about this groundbreaking car.

The Cybercab offers a unique view of innovation.

Franz von Holzhausen, Tesla’s chief designer, recently shared a sneak peek of the Cybercab.

In a video posted on the Petersen Automotive Museum’s YouTube channel, he described the vehicle as a significant advancement in transportation.

The Cybercab may look like an ordinary car at first glance, but it features a fully autonomous driving system, making it quite different from traditional vehicles.

One of the most striking aspects of the Cybercab is its lack of a rear window, steering wheel, and pedals.

According to Holzhausen, this design choice is intentional. In an autonomous car, the driver does not need to focus on what is behind them, allowing for a more spacious interior.

This design maximizes storage space, enabling the car to accommodate large items while seating only two passengers in the front.

Franz explained: “It’s a really exciting vehicle for us, this is something that is going to radically change transportation as we know it.

“The Cybercab is a fully autonomous vehicle, you can own the car, you can purchase the car, you can lease the car for the amount of time that you want.

“It’s a different type of ownership experience than maybe we’re 100% familiar with but I think it’s going to really revolutionize the way that we move ourselves around.”

The Cybercab offers a fresh perspective on car ownership.

Holzhausen explained that customers can choose to own or lease the vehicle based on their needs.

This flexibility is expected to revolutionize how people think about personal transportation.

Unlike typical ownership experiences, the Cybercab allows users to enjoy the benefits of a vehicle without the traditional requirements of driving.

The Cybercab features a sleek and modern design.

The color of the Cybercab is also noteworthy.

Tesla opted for a gold hue, which Holzhausen describes as a modern twist on the classic New York City yellow cab.

This color choice reflects a vision of the future while paying homage to an iconic symbol of urban transport.

The design is meant to be more expressive and updated, aligning with Tesla’s goal of creating vehicles that are both functional and visually appealing.

He added: “We chose the color gold and it’s really a special color, it really reflects kind of a future version of the idea of a New York City Yellow Cab and it’s a future idea of that where we’ve taken that iconic yellow and created something more expressive and more up to date.”

The focus on technology enhances the user experience, making the ride enjoyable and interactive.

Positive reactions from the public

Since the reveal, viewers have shared their thoughts on the Cybercab tour in the comments section of the YouTube video.

Many expressed excitement about the vehicle’s potential impact on those who cannot drive.

The fact that so many people do not see this is the future of Transportation makes me stack Tesla stocks as hard as possible. Please keep it up! One user said.

That’s the closest I’ll ever get to being in one, the second user wrote.

Driverless cars are the vehicular equivalent of wireless charging on phones.

No-one really wants it or needs it but they’ll insist it’s the future, the third user said.

this is a great idea in fact all new cars should be driverless all stay in right lanes and drive the speed limit so I can drive an old ice without them being in the way, another user said.
