Amid Tesla’s stock decline and ongoing boycotts, President Trump announced his plans to buy a Tesla, showing support for Elon Musk’s ‘baby’ DOGE.
Trump defends Musk against boycotts
Former President Donald Trump announced he will buy a Tesla to show support for Elon Musk.
This comes as the electric car company faces stock declines and boycotts. Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, has been under fire for his work with the White House.
Trump took to Truth Social late Monday to defend Musk. He accused “Radical Left Lunatics” of trying to harm Tesla due to Musk’s role in the federal government.
Trump wrote: “Radical Left Lunatics” who have staged protests against Tesla across the US as the company’s chief has been hacking away at federal government spending and jobs in his new gig leading the Department of Government Efficiency.
“To Republicans, Conservatives, and all great Americans, Elon Musk is ‘putting it on the line’ in order to help our Nation, and he is doing a FANTASTIC JOB!”
Trump praises Musk’s contributions
Trump praised Musk’s efforts and urged conservatives to stand by him. “Elon Musk is ‘putting it on the line’ to help our Nation,” Trump wrote.
He called Musk’s leadership “fantastic” and accused critics of unfairly targeting him.
Trump claimed that Tesla, “one of the world’s great automakers,” is being boycotted in an attempt to hurt Musk. He vowed to purchase a Tesla the next morning as a “show of confidence and support.”
Since Trump took office, Tesla’s stock initially surged but has since dropped significantly.
The company’s stock price has fallen nearly 32% since January 1. In the past month alone, it has declined by more than 28%.
At the same time, protests against Musk and his government policies have increased. Demonstrations have taken place at Tesla dealerships across the country.
Over the weekend, six protesters were arrested at a Manhattan Tesla showroom.
A Tesla dealership in Colorado was also targeted. A 40-year-old woman allegedly spray-painted “Nazi cars” on the building.
She also threw Molotov cocktails at vehicles on the property.
Tesla owners caught in the crossfire
Some Tesla owners report that their cars have become a target for anti-Musk vandals.
As a result, some drivers have replaced their Tesla logos with emblems from other car brands.
This is seen as an attempt to avoid vandalism and distance themselves from Musk’s political views.
Despite the backlash, Trump remains firm in his support.
The president stated that he would buy a Tesla in the morning to demonstrate his confidence in Musk
“In any event, I’m going to buy a brand new Tesla tomorrow morning as a show of confidence and support for Elon Musk, a truly great American,” he wrote. “Why should he be punished for putting his tremendous skills to work in order to help MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN???”
While Trump has yet to reveal which Tesla model he plans to buy, his endorsement adds another layer to the ongoing controversy surrounding Musk and Tesla.
