President Donald Trump sharply criticized Vladimir Putin, calling the Russian leader “absolutely crazy” after a deadly strike in Ukraine.
Trump condemned Putin’s recent attack as needless and warned it could lead to Russia’s collapse.
Trump warns Putin’s actions
Trump’s statement followed Russia’s largest aerial assault of the war so far. He described Putin’s killing of civilians and soldiers as senseless.
Trump wrote on Truth Social that Putin has changed and is now aggressively attacking Ukrainian cities without justification.
He wrote: ‘I’ve always had a very good relationship with Vladimir Putin of Russia, but something has happened to him”.
‘He has gone absolutely CRAZY! He is needlessly killing a lot of people, and I’m not just talking about soldiers.
‘Missiles and drones are being shot into Cities in Ukraine, for no reason whatsoever.’
Trump added: ‘This is a War that would never have started if I were President. This is Zelenskyy’s, Putin’s, and Biden’s War, not ‘Trump’s.”
‘I am only helping to put out the big and ugly fires, that have been started through Gross Incompetence and Hatred.’
Trump blames Zelenskyy for escalating tensions with Russia
While condemning Putin, Trump also criticized Ukrainian President Zelenskyy’s rhetoric.
Additionally, Trump also said Zelenskyy’s words cause problems and should stop. This reignited tensions between the two leaders.
Earlier, Zelenskyy urged Trump to condemn Russia’s attack.
While, Zelenskyy said global silence only encourages Putin and called for more sanctions against Russia.

Trump’s remarks echoed his comments at Morristown Airport, New Jersey. He said he didn’t understand Putin’s behavior after years of a good relationship.
‘I don’t know what the hell happened to Putin. I’ve known him a long time. Always gotten along with him. But he’s sending rockets into cities and killing people.
‘We’re in the middle of talking and he’s shooting rockets into Kyiv and other cities. I don’t like it at all… I don’t know what’s wrong with him.’
He expressed fear over Putin’s new aggressive tactics, calling them unacceptable.
Trump said he is considering more sanctions due to Putin’s actions.
Despite a two-hour phone call with Putin, no ceasefire was agreed.
