Trump names reality TV star to U.S. Holocaust Memorial Council, sparking questions and criticism over her political connections.
Trump appoints Siggy Flicker to holocaust museum board
Former “Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Siggy Flicker has been appointed by President Donald Trump to the United States Holocaust Memorial Council.
This council oversees the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C. The announcement came via Trump’s Truth Social account.
He revealed five new appointments to the council, all replacing members originally named by President Joe Biden, who were dismissed on April 29.
Trump wrote: “They are all strong supporters of Israel, and will ensure we NEVER FORGET. Congratulations to all!”
Flicker, 57, expressed gratitude in an Instagram post. She also called the appointment an “honor and privilege”.
Siggy Flicker’s political ties and public support for Trump
Previously, Flicker is known as a vocal Trump supporter.
Additionally, she frequently posts about the former president on social media and attends events at Mar-a-Lago, his Palm Beach estate.
In December 2024, she posted a New Year’s photo with Trump.
She called him, “the greatest president in the history of America.”
In an earlier interview with the Washington Post, Flicker described Mar-a-Lago as what “America used to be” before the nation was “overrun with jihadis and criminals.”
Flicker’s stepson was pardoned by Trump
Previously, Flicker’s stepson was charged in the January 6 capitol riot but later pardoned by Trump.
Tyler Campanella, her stepson, was arrested in April 2024 and charged with five misdemeanors, including trespassing and disorderly conduct.
According to the FBI, Flicker posted a photo from her account on the day of the riot showing Campanella inside the Capitol.
The caption read: “I love patriots so much. Stay safe Tyler. We love you.”
Campanella pleaded not guilty to trespassing, disorderly conduct, and protesting inside a restricted building.
His charges were dropped after Trump issued sweeping pardons on his first day in office for riot-related cases.
Additionally, Flicker rose to fame as a cast member on Seasons 7 and 8 of The Real Housewives of New Jersey.
She left the show in 2017 amid on-screen feuds. One of the most notable was with castmate Margaret Josephs, who was accused of making antisemitic remarks during filming.
While, a source close to the production claimed Flicker was “bullied by the cast”and felt “out of her element.”
Another insider said Bravo had no plans to invite her back, citing erratic behavior and cast conflict.
The network and Flicker reportedly mutually agreed on her departure.
Trump’s decision to appoint Siggy Flicker to the Holocaust Memorial Council highlights his ongoing reshaping of federal advisory boards.
Additionally, it also reflects how loyalty and political alignment continue to influence high-profile appointments under his leadership.
However, Flicker’s reality TV background, combined with her vocal support for Trump, has brought new public scrutiny to the Council’s role.
