Janay Lynn reported that the creature appeared in front of her house during the afternoon.
She was shocked when it turned to look at her, giving her an unsettling feeling. Lynn rushed back inside, feeling terrified.
Despite telling her friends and family about the sighting, they did not believe her until she filmed the creature later that week.

Miss Lynn said: ‘I was mortified. I first saw it last Monday during the afternoon – it was sitting in the road in front of my house.
‘It didn’t run or act afraid of me, and it turned and looked at me, and I got the chills and ran back inside.
‘I told everyone about it and no one believed me.’

On Saturday night, after putting out food for stray cats, Janay looked outside and saw the creature again. It was eating the cat food she had left out.
She continued: “On Saturday night at about 8.30pm, I had just set out water and food for some stray cats that hang around, and I opened my living room curtains, and it was there.
“I went outside to try to yell and scare it off because I was worried about the cats, and that’s when I got the video of it eating the cat food.
“It made eye contact with me the whole time and was not afraid.”

She decided to step outside to scare it away, capturing video footage of the animal.
The creature made eye contact with her and showed no signs of fear.
Janay shared the video online, hoping to identify the creature. The footage quickly went viral, attracting many comments and theories about what it could be.
Speculation about the creature’s identity
Many viewers suggested that the creature resembled a chupacabra, a mythical blood-sucking creature from folklore.
Others referred to it as a “skin-walker,” a term used in Navajo culture to describe a witch that can transform into animals.
Various more conventional guesses included raccoons and badgers, but Janay found none of these explanations convincing.
She described the creature as having a rat-like face, small eyes, and a long, pointy nose.

Its body had thick, coarse brown fur and measured about two-and-a-half feet long.
Janay emphasized that it did not match any known animal, which made her even more frightened.
She continued: ‘It’s got a rat-like face, its eyes are very small and far apart, it has a long, pointy nose, and a mouth like rats do.
‘It has long legs and arms, is about two-and-a-half feet in length, and has chocolate brown fur that is thick and coarse covering its whole body.
‘I’ve never seen anything like it.’
Local residents are intrigued by the creature.
Intrigued by Janay’s claims, some local residents came to see the creature for themselves.
When they arrived, the animal was found rummaging through her trash can. It then scurried away into a drainage ditch.

Janay and her friends shined a light into the ditch, but the creature made a hissing noise, which further frightened them.
Officials contacted wildlife experts to identify the creature.
A spokesperson suggested that it might be a raccoon suffering from mange, a skin disease that can cause hair loss and a strange appearance.
However, Janay was not convinced by this explanation. She noted that she frequently sees raccoons in her area, and this creature looked different.
