How did Miracle and Charles’s unlikely love story begin?

Miracle and Charles met in 2019 when she worked in a laundromat in Starkville, Mississippi.

Their friendship quickly blossomed, leading to a deep bond. Despite the 61-year age difference, the couple found joy in each other’s company.

Miracle describes Charles as her “knight in shining armor,” noting that he always made her feel comfortable and safe.

Their connection deepened over time, and Charles eventually proposed in February 2020.

Miracle’s family had mixed reactions to their relationship.

Her mother and grandfather were supportive from the beginning, appreciating how happy Charles made Miracle.

However, her father had reservations and was worried about their age difference. It took time and honest conversations for him to accept their love.

Ultimately, he walked Miracle down the aisle at their wedding in July 2022.

Miracle said: “Charles used to bring in one item of clothing and only wanted me to serve him.

“One day he waltzed in there and threw a piece of paper down and said “write down your number” like he’s a player. He was my knight in shining armor.

“We had a good vibe going, he didn’t make me feel weird. It was a good conversation, he made me feel comfortable. I knew he was older but I didn’t know his age exactly.”

Now, Miracle and Charles are looking into IVF to fulfill their dream of having children.

Miracle wants to ensure that Charles can leave behind a legacy, as he has no children of his own.

She hopes to have two kids, despite knowing that she may outlive him.

This reality doesn’t deter her; instead, it motivates her to make the most of their time together.

The couple faced challenges when seeking IVF services.

On their first visit to a clinic, they felt judged due to their age difference.

Miracle found the experience overwhelming but remains determined.

She believes that love should not be limited by age and is hopeful that they will find a clinic that supports their dream.

Miracle said: “I want him to have another generation. We want to go to an IVF clinic to discuss our options.

“We went to an IVF clinic before but we really felt the pre-judgment even though they don’t know me and it was quite overwhelming.

“Now I’m forgetting it as long as they give me my baby. Maybe Charles’s age will stop us from having children but I have an open mind. It may not work.”

Miracle often reflects on the societal perceptions of their relationship.

They frequently encounter misconceptions when they are out together, with some people mistaking them for father and daughter.

She emphasizes that their love is genuine and not based on financial motivations, as she is a nurse with her own career plans.

“We were renting a car and the lady said “oh is this your dad” and I said “yes this is my dad, hey papa, daddy”.

“I’m a goofy person so I won’t get mad,” she added.

“I don’t care if he’s 100 or 55, I like him for him. I thought he was maybe 60 or 70 because he looks so good. He’s always up and active.”

Despite the challenges, Miracle and Charles focus on the positives.

Miracle describes her husband as laid-back and wise, appreciating his life experience. She enjoys hearing his stories and values his advice.

The couple shares a bond that is built on trust and mutual respect.

Miracle said: “I love his advice, I know I can go to Charles and ask him anything. I trust he’s not going to leave me in the dark, he’ll make sure I’m OK.

“He’s peaceful, he’s so laidback, he doesn’t want to argue. I love to hear his stories.

“I love to joke with him about technology. I will take a photo of a cheque and deposit it into my bank account. Charles doesn’t even have a bank card.

“It’s so weird how he operates but I like how he takes it easy.”

Miracle is also aware of the realities of their situation.

Charles has dealt with health issues, including a bout with COVID-19, which has made her more mindful of their time together.

Through it all, Miracle remains hopeful about their future. She understands that there may be obstacles ahead, but she believes that love conquers all.

“I worry about Charles. At Thanksgiving he got Covid and I broke down. I prepared myself, but the way he gets up and goes every day, he’s not going anywhere,” she shared.

“We prepare for things and he says he might not be here in five years. I tell him he will and he’ll outlive us all.”

“I know realistically I’ll be around longer than him so I try to live and have fun and experience as much as I can with him. We try to live it up,” Miracle admitted.
