YouTube star MrBeast turns down invitation to explore Titanic wreck: 'Kind of scary that I could have been on it'

YouTuber MrBeast shared that he was offered an undersea tour to explore the wreck of the Titanic but declined.

On Sunday, MrBeast took to Twitter to post a text message showing that he was invited to join the expedition to witness the famous wreck.

'I was invited earlier this month to ride the Titanic submarine, I said no,' he wrote. 'Kind of scary that I could have been on it.'

MrBeast posted a screenshot of a text exchange inquiring about joining the expedition.

'I was invited earlier this month to ride the Titanic submarine, I said no,' he wrote. 'Kind of scary that I could have been on it.'

The popular content creator, who has hundreds of millions of followers for her charity videos, shared the news on social media, expressing her relief that she wasn't part of the submersible expedition. The ill-fated Titan.

OceanGate's Titan submersible was determined to have exploded catastrophically, killing five passengers, including OceanGate CEO Stockton Rush, British businessman Hamish Harding, French diver Paul-Henri Nargeolet, Pakistani-born businessman Shahzada Dawood and his Son Suleiman (Suleman). This unfortunate incident was a wake-up call for risky expeditions.

The cause of the explosion is still under investigation.

After the incident, many other potential passengers shared how they refused the trip citing safety concerns.

Similar to YouTuber MrBeast, Las Vegas financial investor Jay Bloom also said he turned down Stockton Rush's invitation to join the fateful tour.

Bloom said Rush tried to convince him he would be safe on the trip. But in the end, the American billionaire refused under the persuasion of his son.

MrBeast, real name Jimmy Donaldson, with more than 162 million followers, MrBeast is the most subscribed and highest-paid creator on YouTube. His videos often contain challenges and dangerous jokes.
