Lately, a 6-year-old boy from Northern Ireland saved his mother’s life by turning to an Amazon delivery driver for urgent medical assistance.
The dramatic incident was captured on the family’s Ring doorbell camera, showcasing the child’s quick-thinking action to seek help for his sick mother.
The brave boy turns to Amazon delivery driver for help
The incident happened in the town of Newtownards.
A young boy named Aiden was awaiting a delivery from Amazon when the driver arrived at the gate.
After accepting the package, the little boy quickly asked the driver for an urgent case.
“Excuse me. Can you help my mum?” He said in a viral video.
The driver’s expression immediately shifted as he recognized the gravity of the situation and rushed to the house.
Little boy’s mother had been unconscious due to a severe medical episode
According to reports, Aiden’s mother, 26-year-old Elizabeth Crooks, had suffered a severe medical episode.
The mother had experienced a sudden spike in her heart rate, a condition known as postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS), causing her to faint and become unconscious.
Before the driver’s arrival, Elizabeth had been unconscious for nearly 20 minutes, leaving Aiden alone to confront the crisis.
6-year-old boy’s quick-thinking action to save his mom
At that moment, the young child stayed calm. He wrapped his mother in a blanket and got a bucket ready in case she needed to vomit.
“Obviously I had said ‘mummy doesn’t feel well’, so he must have thought that meant I was going to be sick,” Elizabeth later recounted.
When the Amazon driver arrived, he quickly called for emergency medical assistance.
Upon Elizabeth woke up, she was confused and thought the high-visibility vest was from paramedics.
Later, she learned about her son’s brave actions to get help.
“It was such a shock to the system.
When I came round, all I could see was the high-visibility vest so I automatically thought it was the paramedics, to be honest,” Aiden’s mother recalled.
Amazon delivery driver’s kindness and quickness were recognized
Bryan, the delivery driver involved, commented on an online video about the event.
He shared: “Yes, that was me, the delivery driver. I’m relieved that she is fine, and her children should be very proud.
For those asking, I still have my job—Amazon was cool with it.”
Following the incident, a GoFundMe campaign has been launched to recognize the delivery driver’s heroic actions. The total money is now up to $490.
In an interview, Elizabeth expressed her profound gratitude, not only to the Amazon delivery driver but also to her son.
“Hopefully, it can remind other parents of the importance of teaching them what to do,” she said.
Elizabeth also highlights how important it is to teach children what to do in emergencies. Knowing how to respond can make a big difference.
