The YouTuber, known as JerryRigEverything, is famous for his creative projects and innovative ideas.

He surprised his viewers by customizing a Tesla Cybertruck, which was originally made of stainless steel.

To give it a unique look, he covered the vehicle in 25 karats of gold.

This eye-catching transformation was made possible through a partnership with Ridge Wallet, a company known for its high-quality wallets.

He auctions off gold Cybertruck for a good cause

While the auction price may start low, the purpose behind it is significant.

JerryRigEverything runs a wheelchair factory that produces affordable manual wheelchairs in the United States.

He explained that making these wheelchairs is quite costly, despite their low retail price.

The factory uses advanced equipment, including a $500,000 laser cutter, to produce wheelchairs quickly and efficiently.

“I have a wheelchair factory that makes the least expensive manual wheelchairs in the USA.

However, making inexpensive wheelchairs is actually pretty expensive.

“This Laguna 4,000-watt laser cost about half a million bucks. It cuts our aluminum tube to length in seconds, and time is of the essence when building a wheelchair.”

The average wait time for wheelchairs from other manufacturers can be as long as six months, but JerryRigEverything’s factory can deliver a wheelchair in about two weeks.

This efficiency is crucial for people who need immediate replacements, especially if their wheelchair is lost or damaged during travel.

“Our hope is to dial in this process enough to where if an airline loses or breaks a wheelchair, we can build a custom replacement and get it to you before your trip or vacation is over.”

The auction details

In a recent video, JerryRigEverything shared his excitement about auctioning the gold Cybertruck.

He emphasized that all the proceeds from the auction would go directly to the wheelchair manufacturing process.

In addition, The YouTuber thanked Ridge Wallet for supporting the auction, allowing him to fund his important work without conditions.

Although the truck has a significant estimated value of $200,000, the auction is hosted on Cars & Bids as a no-reserve auction.

This means that there is no minimum price, and the vehicle could potentially sell for as little as the starting bid of $20.

However, at the time of writing, bids had already surpassed $90,000, indicating a high level of interest from bidders.

He went on to say: “I was blown away when Ridge wallet said I could auction off their truck with no strings attached and keep the money to build wheelchairs.

“Their generosity is astounding because on paper this truck is worth about $200,000.

“The truck itself plus about $100,000 in gold plating. Realistically we probably won’t get $200,000 for this truck since the auction site, Cars & Bids, is doing a no reserve auction.

So it could sell for 20 bucks, but keep in mind that 100% of all the funds we make go straight towards manufacturing wheelchairs.”
