An artist immersed a dress in the Dead Sea for two months, and it became a captivating artwork.

The Dead Sea is not only famous for being the lowest and one of the saltiest places on Earth, but it also attracts tourists from all over the world.

Back in 2014, Israeli artist Sigalit Landau left a dress in the Dead Sea for 2 months, and it turned into a glittering salt crystal masterpiece that is famous around the world.

The dress, initially stark black, underwent a mesmerizing transformation during its immersion in the Dead Sea in two months. After being salvaged over the water's surface, the dress became covered in white crystallized salt.

The artist, Landau, who created a unique work of art, was supposed to draw inspiration from S. Ansky’s 1916 play titled "Dybbuk," according to the gallery.

This play is about a young Hasidic woman possessed by the spirit of her deceased lover. Landau's salt-encrusted Dea Sea gown serves  as a replica of the one worn in the dramatic production of the 1920s

Landau not only captures the gradual process of salt on the dress but also actively monitors the black gown at various intervals. The captivating photos are featured in the exhibition titled "Salt Bride" at London’s Marlborough Contemporary Gallery.

Through the artwork "Salt Bride", viewers are given a sensory and visual experience as they explore the melding of the natural wonders of the Dead Sea with the drama of a historical play.
