A woman known as the “bikini tradie” argues for the right to work topless in hot weather like her male colleagues, sparking controversy.
In Sydney, Australia, a female landscaper known as Shianne Fox has stirred up a heated debate.
She calls herself the “Bikini Tradie” and has raised an important issue about gender equality in the workplace.
Her request to work topless like male colleagues in hot weather sparked mixed reactions online.

“Bikini tradie” demands equal right to work topless on hot days like male co-workers
On a particularly hot day, with temperatures reaching 40 degrees Celsius, Shianne Fox decided to speak out.
While her male co-workers worked without shirts, she felt it was unfair that she had to keep her top on.
She approached her boss with a simple request: to allow her to work topless as well.
However, her boss expressed concerns that it could distract other workers.
Fox took to TikTok to express her frustration.

In her video, she stated, “It’s a f—ing 40-degree day today and I’m the one who has to wear my shirt while all the boys on the site don’t have to wear theirs.”
She highlighted what she sees as a double standard in how men and women are treated in the workplace.
“It’s a double standard, it’s s-xist, and I’m actually really over it. I just want to be topless like the boys but no, I will ‘distract them’,” she added.

Fox has been working in male-dominated jobs for several years.
She expressed her hope that by speaking out, she might encourage more women to join trades like landscaping.
She wants to create an environment where women can feel comfortable and accepted in the industry.
“From my experience, if you just go in there with your head held high and if you don’t let m

en have it over you. Stand your ground. They won’t do anything,” she said.
In her view, working topless should not be a big deal. She believes it is a natural choice, especially in extreme heat.
“It was such a hot day. Obviously, when you work in the industry, lots of the boys have their tops off. I thought it was only fair if I could get mine off, too. Tbh, I have no shame in getting my b–bs out.”
“I don’t think it should be ‘distracting’ because at the end of the day they’re just a natural thing.
If you’re going to be childish and feel like they’re going to be distracting, then you should just grow up,” she added.

Reaction on social media
The video quickly gained attention and sparked a variety of responses online.
Some viewers supported Fox’s stance, agreeing that women should have the same rights as men in this regard.
Others, however, disagreed, arguing that working topless could be inappropriate in a professional setting.
One user said: I work in construction & what I say is the men need to keep their tops on.
It’s so hot and uncomfortable in heavy PPE in the summer, so I agree with her argument to wear a bikini, if men wear nothing.
The second user added: This will just ruin it for the men. Why can’t people just be happy. It’s dangerous to have those things flapping around.
If she was flat like a man then ok. Same goes for a man with floppy ones. Safety issue.
The third user commented: She has an adult website. That casts doubt over everything she’s saying.
Sounds more like she’s trying to get her day job to provide her with content for her night job.
Another user said: There was a female bricklayer who worked on our house in the early 80’s who did the same thing. Also Australia.
Someone said: Male or female you should not work top less in any conditions, health and safety,
