Donald Trump gave an unexpected response to the recent surge in plane crashes, sparking discussions and reactions from the public.
Recently, former President Donald Trump spoke about a series of plane crashes in the United States.
His remarks came after a small plane crash in Pennsylvania that injured several people.
Trump addressed the issue during an interview, providing his thoughts on the situation.

Recent plane crash in Pennsylvania
On March 9, 2025, a single-engine plane crashed in the parking lot of a retirement community in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
Five people were taken to the hospital due to injuries from the crash. Fortunately, no fatalities were reported.
The details about the injured individuals’ conditions have not been disclosed yet.

This incident is one of several recent accidents involving planes.
Last month, a Delta Air Lines flight experienced a frightening landing when it flipped and caught fire.
Thankfully, all passengers on that flight escaped unharmed. The events raise concerns about safety in aviation.
Donald Trump offers unexpected explanation for the rise in recent plane crashes
When Trump was asked about the increasing number of plane crashes, he acknowledged that there had been a “spate” of incidents.
He stated that such occurrences happen from time to time.
Trump remarked that these events can happen more frequently for a while before returning to normal.
He clarified that the recent crash in Pennsylvania was a small plane incident.
According to Trump, the size of the aviation department does not affect such accidents.

He emphasized that small planes can crash regardless of the size of the governing body overseeing aviation safety.
He said: “That has nothing to do with the department. That was a small plane, it would have happened if you had a big department or a small department as you understand. They have spates like this.
“They have times when things happen a little bit more often than normal and then it goes back and then you go many years without having a problem.”
Trump also commented on Chris Rocheleau, the recently appointed head of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
He expressed confidence in Rocheleau’s leadership. Trump suggested that the FAA’s size and structure would not change the likelihood of small plane crashes.
In his opinion, there are periods when aviation incidents occur more frequently. He noted that this could be part of a natural cycle.
Donald Trump also praisedthe heroic actions of a pilot
During the interview, Trump praised a pilot who narrowly avoided a collision at Chicago Midway Airport.
This pilot had to quickly react to a private plane that appeared unexpectedly on the runway.

Trump commended the pilot for making a swift decision to take off again after landing, preventing a possible disaster.
He added: “I think the Southwest pilot did a fantastic job last week when he lifted that plane off the air because if he’d put the brakes on that wouldn’t have been good.
I think the license for the pilot that got in his way should maybe be revoked.
“The way he immediately stepped on the gas and lifted it up as opposed to thinking for about three seconds, it would have been too late.
“The pilot or pilots did a great job.”

The second user added: We all know the answer for that; too much hot air and lack of oxygen, causing orange skin and irrational rambling.
The third user wrote: Not defending him but there’s no more crashes than average
Another user added: What a terrible year for the aviation industry.
