Burger King faced backlash after giving a modest gift to an employee who worked consistently for 27 years without missing a single day.

Recently, Burger King faced criticism for how it treated Kevin Ford, an employee who had worked for the company for many years.

Even though Kevin worked at Burger King for 27 years without missing a day, the gift he got from the company was disappointing.

Kevin Ford, a cook at Burger King, had a remarkable record of never missing a single day of work throughout his nearly three-decade tenure with the company.

Instead of a meaningful recognition for Kevin’s loyalty, he received only a modest gift package.

This was given on his 27th work anniversary.

The package included a movie ticket, a Starbucks cup, and some candies and chocolates.

It seemed insignificant compared to Kevin’s years of dedication.

In response to the public’s support, a fundraising campaign was started.

It raised over $400,000 to help Kevin start a new culinary venture.

With the support of his daughter, Seryna, Kevin plans to utilize the funds raised to start a food truck business named ‘K27Y.’

The Burger King worker’s daughter raised funds for him.

Seryna, the daughter of the dedicated Burger King worker, initiated a GoFundMe to honor her father, who supported his daughters through education.

The fundraiser surpassed its $200 target, amassing $459,800.

With $20,000, Ford acquired a food truck from China, outfitted with an oven and fryer, sporting the moniker “K27Y” after his viral fame “Kevin 27 years.”

Ford, aided by his Cordon Bleu-trained daughter, plans to offer burgers, hot dogs, and Filipino dishes to honor his fiancée.

Despite his Burger King commitment, Ford eyes retirement by his 30th work anniversary in May 2025, following his recent home purchase in Pahrump, Nevada.

The story quickly spread online and captured the hearts of many people.

Unfortunately, many companies just look at you as a number, not as a dedicated employee.

That’s why many companies experience a high turnover rate, one user said.

Fast food workers need a union, the second user said.

My employer, a university gave me a pencil box as a gift for my 20-year work anniversary, the third user shared.

Good for him. Corporate culture these days is to take what you can from your employees, provide limited positive feedback. Anh get rid of them on a whim, another wrote.
