In an unexpected turn of events, a mother and son were fired from Burger King after their hiring photo went viral on social media.

Shakayla Dixon, a Burger King manager in Clinton, Mississippi, made a decision she thought would benefit her 15-year-old son, Corderrion Valentine, and his friends.

She hired them to work at the restaurant during summer vacation, aiming to keep them occupied and away from potential trouble on the streets. However, her actions later led to all of them being fired

Initially, Dixon’s decision seemed to garner positive attention when she proudly shared a photo of the teens working in the kitchen on Facebook. The post went viral, even catching the eye of Nick Cannon, who praised them for staying out of trouble and earning money responsibly.

The post quickly went viral and sparked debate on social media.

In the comments section, many shared their thoughts about this incident. Some suggested that his mother was balancing parental support with workplace policies. While others argued that he was more deserving of the opportunity than unemployed individuals out there.

One person said: I don’t see the issue here. The folks rather see the mother collect unemployment and government benefits than to work. The creating crimes out of thin air method is costing tax payers .

A second wrote: So the mom did a good thing to keep them off the streets in the holidays. But then teaches kids it’s ok to con people.

Nick Cannon, the comedian and TV host, picked up the viral post and shared the image on his Instagram page with the caption: ‘This is how kings stay out of trouble and earn their keep!’

After the post went viral, Shakayla Dixon faced accusations of nepotism.

However, the positive momentum quickly turned sour. Burger King’s management accused Dixon of nepotism, alleging that she overpaid Valentine and his friends. This led to all five of them being fired, sparking controversy and disappointment in the small community of Clinton.

After the incident, Dixon’s mother defended her actions after being fired.

Dixon defended her actions, stating that she was simply trying to provide a constructive opportunity for her son and his friends. Valentine expressed his disappointment over losing the job after being accuse of nepo baby.

In the interview with local news, he said: ‘I felt like it was a good thing because we could have really been out doing violence or shooting or killing, but we went out and worked,’

Despite being fired, Valentine remains hopeful that his experience will inspire other young people to seek constructive activities and avoid the pitfalls of street life.

He said: ‘I felt like it was a fun experience to get you ready for the real world.’

‘I hope that it portrayed a lot of people to do things good and stop the violence,’ he added.
