A couple from Australia, Kevin, and Andrea Griffin, recently shared their experience after winning a stunning $4.2 million home.

When the Griffins arrived at their new home in Gisborne, they were shocked to discover that many items they expected to find were missing.

Andrea expressed her disbelief, saying, “We were just like, what the hell?”

The couple had seen promotional videos that showcased various appliances and equipment in the home, including a robo-mower, a treadmill, and high-end Smeg appliances.

However, these items were not included in the prize.

The previous owner took every item out of the couple’s winning home

The previous owner of the house, Adrian Portelli, known as the “Lambo Guy,” is a property investor famous for his extravagant lifestyle.

He had purchased the home after it was featured on a reality TV show called “The Block”.

Portelli put the property up as the star prize through his lottery company LMCT+, which the Griffin family then won.

When the Griffins won the house, they believed they would receive everything shown in the promotional material.

However, Portelli clarified that those items were simply for staging and not part of the giveaway.

The situation escalated when the Griffins discovered video footage of Portelli removing the items from the home before they moved in.

This led them to send Portelli a bill for $102,000, detailing the missing items they believed should have come with the house.

The couple’s disappointment was compounded by the condition of the property, which they said required extensive repairs.

Despite facing backlash on social media, Kevin and Andrea defended their feelings.

Many commenters called them ungrateful for complaining about winning a home.

The couple has responded to these criticisms, insisting they are not ungrateful but rather overwhelmed by the unexpected challenges.

Andrea said: “We are anything but ungrateful and we’ve said that all along.

We even pull up at the gate now and look up and go, ‘Wow, that’s our house.’ Like, we own that house.”

Andrea emphasized their gratitude for winning the house, stating, “We are just so thankful that the dice rolled our way.”

She added that they still feel fortunate to own such a beautiful property, even if it comes with complications.

However, they are frustrated about the repairs needed and the missing items.

The former owner addressed the couple’s complains

Previous owner Portelli responded to the Griffins’ claims by stating that the lottery’s terms and conditions were clear.

He explained that the rules regarding the giveaway were made known to all participants.

Portelli mentioned that furniture and other items were not included in the prize, which he believes was communicated properly.

He stated: “The terms and conditions governing each competition hosted on our client’s website are clearly displayed for all participants, ensuring transparency and a mutual understanding of the rules and expectations involved.

“Furniture is clearly not included.”

Recently, the Griffins have been seeking help to make necessary repairs to their new home.

They are reportedly in contact with builders from *The Block* and hope to address the problems soon.
