The incident occurred at the wedding of Gary and Kirsty, held at the Doubletree Dunblane Hydro in Perthshire back in 2022.
As Derek began his speech, he recounted a comical incident that took place on a Christmas morning. He described how he woke up at his parents' house, excited to open his presents.
However, his excitement quickly turned into embarrassment when his mother slapped him, scolding him for bringing someone home.
Derek felt puzzled and wanted to explain his innocence. He confidently stated that he had slept in his bed throughout the night.
With a playful tone, he jokingly remarked, "Obviously she's not thinking about the golden child next door."
Derek continued his story, revealing that the family was gathered in the living room opening presents when they heard some "rustling" coming from the "wee room in the auld house."

"At this point, I go up the stairs, open Gary's room, and there you have it, Kirsty Currie, lying with her legs at ten to two."
