Then, the worker, seemingly in his teens or early 20s, can be seen fighting to remain upright. At one point, he falls asleep standing, hitting his head on a drink dispenser before stumbling awake.

Additionally, frustrated by the delay, the customer knocks on the drive-thru window to wake the worker.

“Bro, are you good? What’s going on with you?” he asks when the worker finally opens the window. The man films the worker, scolding him for the delay, and expresses his anger about the long line.

In a follow-up video, the customer confronts the worker, accusing him of being on drugs.

The employee, explaining that there are only two workers in the entire store, responds that it’s been a difficult week. The customer, however, remains unconvinced and demands a refund, continuing to berate the worker.

Public opinion divided over the worker’s exhaustion

The video quickly sparked a split in opinion. Some social media users believed the worker was simply sleep-deprived.

Others, however, suspected drug use and shared personal experiences with opioids, suggesting the worker’s behavior resembled “nodding out.”

While opinions varied on the cause of the worker’s exhaustion, the overwhelming majority condemned the customer’s cruel behavior. Many pointed out the worker’s clear need for help, not further abuse.

A second wrote: My guy recording only cared about his food. Been waiting for 30 min watching him slumped at the soda machine…

While a third commented: For the people who are saying “he’s just tired” have no clue what it’s like to deal with someone nodding off from opioids. This is what it looks like.

You can tell he’s got some pain in him. i hope he gets the help he needs. this is someone’s son, brother, best friend. Another added.

Someone else said: When you come home at 5am from a club and gotta go in at 6am.

Ultimately, the video sheds light on the harsh working conditions fast-food employees often face. While opinions differ on the reason behind the worker’s exhaustion, most viewers agree that the customer’s treatment was unjust.

In short, the incident shows the importance of compassion in the workplace and the need for fair compensation and adequate support for workers in demanding environments.
