@Cybertruck, here reminds me of how growing up as a child toys transitioned from having solid, well-made, screwed on pieces and parts into crudely glued together chunks of crude plastic and die cast pot metal.

Bad look, @Tesls. REALLY bad.

Previously, Tesla recalled thousands of Cybertrucks due to similar defects. Despite these efforts, it appears that the problem remains unresolved.

Elon Musk halts all Cybertruck deliveries after reports of metal anels falling off

Previously, Elon Musk has reportedly ordered a pause on Cybertruck deliveries.

Posts on X and the Cybertruck Owners Club suggest that Tesla is addressing the issue at its factories. Reuters confirms that most existing Cybertrucks have been recalled for repairs.

The decision is practical but embarrassing for Tesla. The Cybertruck was marketed as a rugged, durable vehicle. Now, basic assembly issues are raising concerns about its overall quality.

Additionally, Tesla also struggled as stock value plummets.

This problem comes at a tough time for Tesla.

The company has lost significant value in recent months. Its stock price has nearly halved since mid-December. In total, Tesla has lost approximately $633 billion in market value.

Cantrail Panel: A recurring problem

The current defect primarily affects the ‘cantrail,’ a long metal trim running along the truck’s roof.

One Cybertruck owner filed an official complaint with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) after their cantrail detached within a year of use.

The complaint warns that the loose trim is ‘hard and sharp enough to hit other cars’ and poses a significant safety risk.

Videos circulating online show Cybertruck panels peeling away from the body.

Experts believe the issue stems from Tesla’s decision to glue the exterior panels instead of bolting or welding them in place.

Unlike conventional vehicles, where panels are integrated into the body and chassis, the Cybertruck relies on adhesive to secure decorative trim to a plastic frame. Cold weather appears to weaken the adhesive, causing the panels to detach.

Tesla’s history of recalls and Cybertruck failures

This is not the first time Tesla has issued recalls for Cybertruck defects.

In June 2023, Tesla recalled Cybertrucks due to an issue with the sail applique, a decorative panel along the truck bed. The company admitted that improper adhesion caused the panel to loosen or detach.

Another major recall occurred when Cybertruck’s accelerator pedal was found to stick to the interior trim, leading to unintended acceleration.
