The driver of a Cybertruck was forced to drive the vehicle in reverse for a significant distance due to an unusual problem.
Unplugged Performance directly responds to Cybertruck critics and addresses the internet reactions.
A car manufacturing company expressed frustration with Cybertruck critics following a problem during a competition. Similar to Elon Musk, Cybertrucks has faced significant criticism.
Recently, the Tesla car was utilized by Unplugged Performance, a car manufacturing company, as their vehicle of choice for the King of the Hammers off-road race in California.
The race, commencing on February 1, witnessed the vehicle experiencing a broken steering bolt on its rear suspension, a substantial issue that impeded the steering functionality. To navigate the vehicle, the driver ingeniously decided to travel in reverse for the required six miles to reach the finish line.
Unplugged Performance reaffirms their enthusiasm for the Cybertruck and its potential.
Although Unplugged Performance made alterations to the fenders, tires, and wheels, the suspension remained untouched. Despite the challenging terrain potentially causing trouble for any vehicle, there were differing opinions online regarding the incident, with some attributing it to poor manufacturing of the Tesla car.
In response to the chatter, the team took to X to address the situation, particularly addressing the car enthusiasts who celebrated the vehicle's breakdown.
“This is a big fail IMO on the Cybertruck and one I’m really disappointed in. The underbed storage is pathetic or poorly sized given how large the vehicles is and that @tesla had a blank sheet for design,” one user wrote on X.
“Every truck has storage for a spare tire which does not compromise the bed space. Rivian can fit a full-sized spare + changing tools + gear tunnel + retracting tonneau cover in a 4”5’ bed while Cybertruck has 6” feet.”
The team emphasized their extensive use of the truck in various scenarios and their enjoyment of motoring experiences, despite encountering the broken bolt on the rear steering rack. They expressed disappointment in the negative stance taken by some "car enthusiasts" and highlighted their dedication to enhancing the vehicle further for future endeavors.
The message concluded with the team expressing optimism about the future of the cyber truck while dismissing what they referred to as 'toxic car culture'.
