A Chinese elderly woman leaves her entire $2,8 million fortune to her pets

Ms. Liu had three children, all listed in her initial will. However, all three were later quickly excluded from the will, shocking everyone.

The real reason that makes Ms. Liu change her will

According to Ms. Liu, she decided to remove her children's names because they did not regularly visit her or even take care of her when she was ill.

Instead, her dogs and cats were the only ones always there for her.

The content of her will requested that her assets be devoted to the care of her pets and even their children.

However, the will will not be recognized by law, because it is not legal to leave property to pets in China.

A local veterinary clinic was appointed to manage Ms. Liu's pet assets

Because of legal constraints, Ms. Liu asked a local veterinary clinic to be the guardian to manage the fortune she left for her pets and take care of them when she passed away.

Chen Kai, an official at the national headquarters of the China Will Registration Center in Beijing, shared that this unusual incident still has some alternative solutions to resolve it.

According to Mr. Chen, Ms. Liu's current will is one-sided. Better yet, she should appoint someone she trusts to oversee the veterinary clinic to ensure her pets are cared for and enjoy her fortune properly and transparently.

Some other officials also warned about the risks of handling all assets at the veterinary clinic before making her last will.

However, she is still determined with her decision.

The story of Ms. Liu caused a stir on social media

After Ms. Liu's story spread on social media, it sparked numerous discussions on the Internet.

Many people believe that Ms. Liu should leave some for her children because they are her true relatives.

Meanwhile, many others supported her decision and said that this was completely worthy of the children's indifference towards their mother.

Some individuals even said they would do the same as Ms. Liu if their children did not take care of them in the future.

“Despite the disappointment and heartbreak she must have felt, she made the difficult decision not to leave anything to her children," one of the top comments under the post.
